seems ever so often, I get a hankering for some really spicy food. I'm talking Texas and South of the border hot, not Thai hot.

I put chipotle Tabasco sauce on my pork chop last night. Yummy!

I often wonder how hot is too hot for me.

Love spicy food; I usually put some hot sauce or red pepper flakes on almost everything I eat. My favorite place to eat is a Thai place here in town called Indochine; very hot and very good.

i really love spicy food too :)

Although once i tried a hot sauce that was much too hot for me.
You know the type that they sell in some stores that are more like novelties than actually intended for regular use with food?
I was in leavenworth, WA once in a shop that had a wide variety of such "insanely-hot" hot sauces and there were pretzel sticks to try it with. So i took a single drop on the end of a pretzel stick, ate it, & spent the next half hour or so frantically looking for anything to put out the intense fire that was burning holes in my tongue  . Nothing helped, tried ice-water, milk, food, peanut butter, bread, all varieties of spicyness remedies. but it felt like burning phosphorus and burned through it all.

whole milk, don't swish or swallow. Just take it in, let it set for a second or two and spit. Ice wouldn't work because it's not actual "heat". Just the capsicum molecules binding to your receptors.

I like lime jello to cool the burn, but most of the time I let it burn and get the endorphin rush
Some of my favorite peppers are scotch bonnet and habanero.

Kutbil-ik de Original Mayan recipe at 11,600 Scovilles.

--I prefer the flavor of the green stuff better, though.

This stuff has it's uses as well:

Some of the 'Insanely Hot' sauces are actually concentrated oleoresin capsiacin extract at several million Scovilles. --Milk won't help at this point because the capsaicin is concentrated to levels where it is no longer considered a condiment, but is instead considered a food additive. The 'sauce' below, (which is actually not a sauce, but is instead refined glacial capsaicin) is rated at 16,000,000 scovilles.

Yeah, loved the stuff, but my body will not put up with it any more. Eat something hot, get no sleep. Bummer.
