I have found out why my Ex-Girl Friend broke up with me and it is Aspurges related. The "Elders" in her family says she is not alowed to be my GF. This is because she wants to have children.Her family has apparently "Dug up information" about me and has found out about my aspurges one way or another. Plus they have seen pictures of me. Now she is not alowed to go out with me because of my Aspurges. . Im finding this very hard to cope with because I cant be with the women I love because of something I cannot help!

What can I do about this? Have any of you been in a similar situation?

In my opinion, it tells you more about her family, and reflects on them badly, rather than anything you have done.

I remember when I first got dx aged 30, and my ex's Mum said, something really on a tangent that we're all descended from monkeys, and asked the question would that mean if I had children, would they have Autism? I was really hurt, but on the other hand I realised later it was because people are not informed, but also people are thoughtless and nasty.

The irony is though, we worked out the traits run in my ex's family too.

So I don't know what to advise you other than you haven't done anything wrong, and to try and keep touch with your gf, if you both still feel the same way about each other.

Yes we both do feel the same way about eatch other. The worst thing that her mother does no enforce the rules so she can go out with me she just as to be conservative of the information she gives out to the rest of her family but she does not see this as a choice

I hate to say this, but if she is beliving everything her narrow minded family is telling her without looking into AS herself, or going with what her feelings are telling her then you are better off without her or her bigoted family.

I think she will have trouble in the future though, that her family won't approve of anyone she dates. Sooner or later that is something she might have to deal with.

@emc2 : I think you are right however they are trying to set her up with one of her half cousins whom used to be an alcoholic and has angert issues as well as spending money issues. But her family seems hell bent on her going out with him.To be perfectly honest I don't know why they are that way. To me it seems weird.The worst thing is , is that her family has never even met me apart from her mum! They have only have information and a picture of me they don't know my personality.

That is just cruel, ignorant and stupid. If this tells something about genes, it says that they are stupid and could need an aspie in their family. And inbreeding with an alcoholic abusive guy. Uhhm... Hello, Darwin! Can I get some support?

@Klom I agree with you on that one they do have there priority's messed up. Atleast not everyone in the world is like them els humans would never evolve!

I dont understand why people are negative to aspies.

I dont think its the step cousin. But letting me down gently maybe but I don't think shed be so elaborate if she was.
