The man

It's easy to see (just to point it out, he sways side to side before he talks, which is typical of people with autism when they stand. When he interacts, it's simple then).

To me, it was clearly the woman throughout. Then after I finished watching, I wasn't sure.

Her inconsistent eye contact at the beginning, total lack of reciprocity in conversation later, and misunderstanding of intentions at the end seem clearly Aspie to me. I saw myself in her totally.

I knew that the guy was supposed to be the aspie, but that sort of thing did cross my mind about the girl.

If being normal is behaving like her, I throw up my hands.

With the female, it's showing how the man with the ASD can't engage her in appropriate conversation, no matter how many times he tries, plus his "inappropriate eye contact" that led to conflict. The female unknowingly takes the lead and goes off on a social tangent in an appropriate way.

I don't know why they need to do Predator vision though, I mean, sure, that environment is chaotic, but it's not going to look like that through MKI eyeball; it'll feel bad inside. The blurred sound probably gets auditory processing problems across adequately though (blurred vision would be good for visual processing problems).

I find that I stare at the name tags of female employees when I ask for things.

Your first paragraph is very interesting to me. I think that's what happens to me with people, and why I end up finding THEM weird!

I didn't understand your second paragraph, some concepts there that I don't know, if you'd care to explain a bit more in detail...?

I think these adverts are pretty poor, even though it was obvious he was the one with autism, the receptionist was very rude, why didn't she answer when he asked her name.
Its obvious this was produced by an NT, the receptionist was rude, ignorant, erratic. most of the traits that an NT would use when describing autism.

She's showing body language that means she's not interested in showing him where (she complains that she has to show people around and that she doesn't get paid to do it), and he repeats the exact same phrase again, as if he's rehearsed it in his head many times (and he has). It'd be "appropriate" for a person to pick up on this and apologize and say they'll handle it.

Greentea,

The second paragraph refers to when it switches to a 1st person perspective as he's following her, and the visual field goes funny colours; a blurred mess would be better to show visual perception problems IMO (but then, that's how I experience it).

The boy clearly. The part when he is following the lady is very good, he catches all the sounds from around him and gets confused. That's why he cannot understand what the lady is saying. That's what happens to me when i meet my thesis advisor (among other things), and of course i blow it.

See this POST for details.

A day in the life of Daniel D topic

Interesting question. I identified with Daniel (in the video). I would have asked for a map, though, and practiced my way around. When there was visual distortion I thought that was indicating CAPD and sensory issues. This happens to me.

And who was minding the help desk when the lady got up to help Daniel?

I also watched two of the other videos. Daniel was eavesdropping on an NT emofest! I enjoyed his reply!

Then my aging computer shut down and would not let me see any other videos. (I am surprised I got back to WP in one piece!) I suppose seeing three is actually an improvement. :P

Oh, I hadn't noticed there were others! Can someone tell me what the girl says and what he answers in THIS VIDEO? I can't make it out.

Autism: Bus Ride

I can see a lot of myself in his guy with how he gets on the bus and waits for his stop though I watch out the window for a landmark to know when to get off rather than watching my watch and I think I've gotten good at ignoring the other bus riders (they don't talk to me much and I prefer it that way).
