A Long Way From Home, by The Kinks really does it, for me. No other song does that. Not even Imagine, by John Lennon, except for The White Cliffs of Dover, by Vera Lynn.

What song, or songs bring you to tears?

Leon Rosselson - "World Turned Upside Down"; saw him perform it live a couple of months ago and I was crying my little commie heart out trying to sing along.

and although "chrome" (vnv nation) has always elicited strong emotions from me, it has become immensely difficult to not be completely focused on the song if it's playing. this can cause problems in the car with other people trying to talk to me.

"Stand By Me" does indeed have a really emotional vibe to it.

I've never really liked Lennon's cover that much, I prefer the original by Ben E. King.
