Recently, I was discussing a former friend with a friend, who said:

"you took a lot of grief from him"?

What does it mean? *scratching my head*

It means you had to put up with a lot of abuse / grief / problems from him. Since I don't know the exact context or details, that's just vague enough to be helpful.
