I don't know about anyone else, but I was very surprised when I heard about this. Apparently, Cindy McCain, wife of former presidential candidate John McCain as you probably already know, has posed for a "No H8" (anti-Prop 8 ) ad. I was surprised enough to hear that John McCain's daughter was a supporter of same-sex marriage, but hearing that his wife is also was a huge shock. Here's a link to the story:

They both say that it is not a Republican issue nor a Democrat issue, but rather a human rights issue.

Then again, it was Mitt Romney, a Republican (and a Mormon), who legalized same-sex marriage in Massachusetts.

Romney had nothing to do with the legalization of same sex marriage in MA, he was adamantly against it. It put into place by a court order, not a legislative bill.

The majority of same-sex marriages laws are placed by court orders, not legislative bills. Vermont is the only one that placed it by legislative bill after they allow same-sex couples to have civil unions for several years, whose method I think will work as it would get the people of the state used to the idea that there are same-sex couples that want to be recognized by the state. I think that the way Vermont did it with civil unions first, then the same-sex marriages, shows that given time, people will accept the idea of same-sex marriages.

That's awesome. Yes, Meghan McCain has been on the side of gay marriage for quite some time. She writes for the DailyBeast, an online news magazine.

I believe that human rights issues are something the autism/Aspie community should fight for! After all, at one time 'mentally ill' people (which i do not consider us as) were used as test subjects, put in mental hospitals, locked away from society, and treated very VERY badly.
