Has anyone ever seen the movie The 10th Kingdom? It aired as a miniseries on NBC early in the year 2000. I remember watching when it first aired on NBC (I was in the second grade then) and I loved it. It's still one of my favorite movies to this day. If you've seen it, what did you think of it?

OMG, my family loves that movie. We watched it alot when the kids were little. We bought the VHS edition, and then a few years ago, we bought the DVD version. I thought it was a great miniseries. What did you think?

I also loved the opening intro where New York City transforms into a fairy-tale land of some sort. Did anyone notice the Twin Towers slowly falling down at the 52-second mark in the intro? That was a year before the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

I love that mini-series! I watched it when it first aired on ABC all those years ago and we ordered the VHS/book set right after the first episode was over. My friend and I stay up all night and watch the DVDs straight through about once a year for old time's sake. If you guys like the 10th Kingdom, you should check out the SyFy channel's mini-series called Alice. It's sort of like a new take on the Alice in Wonderland story and has a major 10th Kingdom feel to it. It was pretty awesome. 8)

Ah, yes! Awesome. Absolutely awesome.

Unfortunately all my 10th Kingdom DVDs are in storage at the moment -- but I did manage to find a second hand copy of the novelisation. Haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I found the videos in a shop in Japan and borrowed them one after the other, and then once I'd seen all of those I went straight out and tried to find the DVDs. Had to order them individually because there weren't any sets.

And then when I got back to Aussie, I showed them to my family and they loved them too. I especially like Wolf who is such a great character. And the magic mushrooms singing "Lighter Shade of Pale". And of course the three trolls who turn into Beegees fans!! Actually what's not to love about this show?

Especially it's good because it's from the same people who did others like Gullivers Travels and so on -- all standing out as great drama at the time when TV movies were generally low budget crap.
