I just looked at my graduating class, and realized everybody has one (Except me, I deleted the ******* thing.) All my friends with exception to one who's almost fifty, and all my siblings, and just about everyone I worked with at my last job. Crazy, so who doesn't have one?

I don't. It's enough to maintain my TRUE identity than to have to also maintain a virtual identity. Besides, FBI owns Facebook and uses it as a way to identify who people are connected to.

Connected to what. Crime? Terrorism? You would only genuinely use that as a reason for not using Facebook, if you were a criminal.

It's still scary that they know all that info though, no matter what you do.

I didn't have a Facebook until recently, I was finally talked into getting one.

I haven't logged in in a few weeks though, I don't like it already. Not to mention, the only reason I even log into MySpace is to listen to music...which isn't an option in FaceBook.

I especially don't like that it forces you to put in a last name, so I put in a fake one. I learned several really good lessons about Internet anonymity several years ago, and no stupid social networking site is going to break me of that, even if it is against their policies

I used to have both a MySpace profile and a Facebook profile. I got rid of my MySpace when one day I looked at my profile and realized how 'stupid' (my opinion) I was being...having a decorated web page, posting esoteric interests, being vain...when I came to have that understanding, I decided it was time to move on from MySpace. It came at the cost of losing contact and friendships, including a best friend of several years and a love interest.

Some time after deleting my MySpace account, I created a Facebook account so I could reestablish contact with some of the people that I was only able to reach through social networking. Over time, I became annoyed with everyone's posts, to me they seemed shallow and trivial. All Facebook did for me is remind me how great the rift is between myself and others, and so I ended up rejecting social networking altogether.

I think it's funny that "social networking" basically comes down to "I have more 'friends' than you! I'm going to collect even more!"

It's like threadcounters on forums...what's the point?

I don't have any of those social networking thingies. I'm not looking for anyone, I don't want to be found by anyone, and I don't want to give away any personal information to a corporation which then claims to own it and will use it in any way they see fit. Under my birth name, I am invisible on the internet, and I like it that way.

I used to have a facebook account but didn't use it very often so I deleted it.
