Are all aspies artist (creative minded)?
Im getting the feeling that everybody on these forums are extremly right brained. As for all of the aspies we look at a situation in a different way negative or positive, we question the process of things that most people just naturally carry. Could this mean that aspies conjure a great amount of creativeness then others?

And another thing I just thought of is: is the population of aspies as great or lower those who are not, in otherwords is this syndrome some what common or rare in the human population?

Have you visited all of the available forums? I think some are definitely frequented by more left-brained AS. I also think that the ones posting there are less interested in posting in forums like this one. Try science and technology or computers etc.

Actual AS diagnosis' are becoming more and more common. So you cant really say its 'rare'.

as for creativity... on most right brain - left brain tests, i get extreme right-brainedness. To top that off I am a left-handed individual with right handed tendencies. I cannot write at all with my right hand.

I don't believe in right-/leftbrainedness. And I wouldn't say I am creative, but I tend to make mental connections that surprise other people. If I had the energy to actually realize some of those ideas ... yes, then it would fit to call me creative.

Hmmm. I have the artistic ability of toast and I don't know if what goes on in my head is creative or disturbing . I don't have the ability to put what's in my head down on paper. Some people should thank God for that. *basks in her strangeness*

My inteligence is a creative inteligence. I dont think I am super smart, but my creative abilities make up for that...and my ability to ask...what if?? But there are some aspies who are very left brained and more than a few that are equally left and right brained...thats where the super genuises are.

I am creative, but I am more of an art appreciator than an actual artist.

I don't think you will find creative wonders here.

Aspies don't like to take different steps.

Some aspie's think they are creative, most of them are just too realistic and concrete in their art.
Then some NT can say:"Waw, Lukas what a great painting, what is he creative ooh..'

The painting was nothing original, it was a puzzle of his mind.

Btw I remember talking to 2 autistic brothers in secondary school. (before I had the ASS spectrum diagnose) they thought they were creative, they sucked at most subjects who needed common sense and or logic. But they had a good memory (rote), and a visual thinking way.
But that visual thinking was was too concrete to make something original.
But they gave themself hope saying they were creative.

I won a state cartooning comp once, but I've been put off from doing any drawing for a long time for some unknown reason.

well, i am an artistic person myself. always was and still am artistic.
i sing, draw, and make accessories. i graduated in fashion design & artistic make-up.
right now, i'm studying Musical Theatre in Colombia. nothing wrong with being artistic, it's nice.
i hope to make a career out of it one day.
