Hi, I'm new here, and I'd just like to introduce myself. I'm a teacher and a student. I'm keen on science fiction and linux computing. Looking forward to meeting and chatting with some unusually like-minded people :) .

Thanks for the warm wilkommens.

@jamesongerbil I'm pretty keen on all sf, but especially books and especially the books of Philip K. Dick, Ursula K. Le Guin, Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Ian Banks, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, Olaf Stapledon, Stanislaw Lem and Joe Haldeman. I guess I particularly like distopian sf, and I like sf that is more about ideas than technology... soft sf.

Cheers people.

@ orange Unfortunately have changed avatar -- there's another Kubrick fan floating around the forum who's got first dibs. It's a great film. I love the bit where Strangelove can't help himself talking about how 'animals could be bred and SLAUGHTERED'. Oh, what a marvellous film.
