Grant Morrison fans?

Just curious to see if there are any other fans of comic book writer Grant Morrison out here. I know comic books aren't very respected as an art form, but trust me when I say that this man is a genius. A biography of him, courtesy of Wikipedia, can be found here;

Between allegedly inspiring the Matrix with his Invisibles, rehabilitating forgotten DC characters in Seven Soldiers, doing the definitive versions of the X-Men and the Justice League, and writing one of the best animal rights stories ever in We3, I only wish I could be as diverse and brilliant a writer as Morrison. If you read comic books, you probably know and love Grant Morrison. If you don't read comic books, well, stop reading this post and pick up a copy of We3 or New X-Men!

I like what i've read of Grant Morrison (Animal Man, some Doom Patrol, first volume of The Invisibles, and most recently SeaGuy), but Alan Moore is the superior writer IMO...

The Vertigo imprint in general is full of excellent stuff that transcends the horror/sci-fi/superhero/satire categories, and a million miles away from the formulaic stuff of mainstream Marvel/DC...

I personally read both Vertigo/Independent and Marvel/DC stuff; there's good in both categories, though the nature of the corporate-owned Marvel and DC superhero universes makes truly good stories harder to do.

That said, since reading Garth Ennis' Preacher for the first time at age 16, it has been my dream to do an epic maxi-series like that, or the Invisibles, or Transmetropolitan, or any of the other classic Vertigo series. This differs from my childhood dream of writing the X-Men, as I would have a lot more freedom on my own characters than, say, Wolverine.

Morrison is my favourite writer in comics. I can't think of another writer in the industry who packs as much into a single story as Grant does. And yes, The Matrix was essentially a rip off of his Invisibles series.

I'm very happy that DC is finally going to be putting out a trade of his Flex Mentallo stuff.

Hold up. They're reprinting Flex Mentallo? That series which I've never even seen but everyone tells me is greater than great?

Well DC eventually won the lawsuit against the Atlas estate, though I believe they do have to pay them some royalty. The fourth Morrison Doom Patrol trade ("Musclebound", collecting #42-50) should be out in August. Flex first appeared in the third trade ("Down Paradise Way") and the new volume collects the issues that detail his origin and first story arc.

So with this about to be released, it only makes sense that Vertigo would do a Flex Mentallo trade in the near future. Not only are the original issues incredibly difficult to track down for cheap, but Morrison has retconned Flex into being the final part of his surrealist trilogy alongside The Invisibles and The Filth.

I didn't think any of those happened in the same "universe"... Flex Mentallo, which i haven't read, but understand to be a Doom Patrol spin-off, and therefore in the DC universe, whereas The Invisibles and The Filth are their own stand-alone continuities, not related to DC in any way apart from being published by Vertigo, IIRC...

However i'm not certain as to whether some Vertigo stuff is in the DCU or not (Swamp Thing, Animal Man and Doom Patrol definitely are, Preacher and Transmetropolitan definitely not, but some stuff like Sandman and Hellblazer seems to be sometimes in and sometimes out of the DCU)...

The very last issue of The Invisibles is, simply put, in the top five things i've ever come across. By things i don't just mean literature.
