3DS Nintendo next handled console

Nintendo has annonced his next handled console, the 3DS. The screen will display in 3D without the need for glass. It will also be backward-compatible with DS games.

Sounds pretty cool. And now I feel good about not buying a new DS model since 2004.

Right now I'm with the DS Lite, I rarely use it, let's say almost never, but I'v decided to go again to my shop work after a period of break ignring what people may think and using my consoles when nobody's in, this one may be a nice upgrade. Sure they make a lot of different versions...

I have to say Nintendo is an amazing company, always cutting edge...

What the hell, I just pre order the DSI XL and now Nintendo comes out with a new one. I just might have to reconsider on the new DSI XL. Nintendo does an amazing job with all thier consoles.

holy crap. why can't nintendo just either upgrade the console every two years, or work on a new one, because three in around the space of a year is ridiculous, it's like apple and the iPhone.

I can't see why anybody would buy the DSi, unless that's their first Nintendo console anyway. They removed the GBA slot, removing a massive amount of games and then added crap like the ability to distort photos, then they charge more money for it. And people actually buy that junk?

Ds original and Lite are the only ones worth it if you ask me...

I wouldn't mind an upgrade, since my current DS is the original fat model. And I don't mind the loss of the GBA slot so much, since it's much more convenient/comfortable to just play GBA games on my Micro.

It's a new generation in fact. Like the GBA compared to the GBC. It will propably be like a handlhed GameCube. Which also mean that there is no need to rush, it will be there for more that five years!

isn't the ds lite already 3d, ff4 kh 358 are both 3d games, sorry but i'm not seeing the purpose here unless i'm missing something.

either way i'm gonna pass on this unless it has a pressure sensitive touch screen for colors! [the ! is part of the the tittle i'm not exited] then again i could just simply keep my ds lite for colors! anyway.

I don't think that they were truly 3D, they were more along the lines of what had been done in Nintendo since Mario 64. I think what they are talking about is more pop out 35, like what was used in Avatar, but without glasses, might jsut look like a magic window.

This sounds intersting, I only upgraded my original DS to a DS lite, so I could give it as a present to a younger cousin, I didn't really see much reason to get the DSi, as I saw no use, and I can't get my DS to go Wifi as is. But if there I will have to see what this new one offers.

The Micro was also an unnecessary console. The SP was needed, if only for the backlight, but the Micro wasn't, even worse, in exchange for nothing you lost the ability to play original Game Boy games. They take so much out and put so little back in. It's an attempt to make people buy something they don't need.

i saw a preview of it on youtube it seems like a total waste to me, mainly because my eyes go funky [i keep staring up] when i play games to long, so this new 3d would probably give me lazy eye in about a week. besides the 3d we have now seems good enough to me. to me 3d means full range of movement in any direction and days and ff4 have that.

the only thing that worry's me is this console is going to take exclusive games that will not be compatible with the ds lite or others.

also i've never seen avatar and never will.
