I wanna hear about the most disappointing moments you had in gaming everything from you dieing right before a save point to a game you bought turned out to be terrible.

The disappointing part of a game to me (which was the Force Unleashed) was where when I bought it, I thought I would get to duel any of the enemies in an arena or play through the game as that character. Turns out that stuff was only for some of the other consoles, and not the one I had.

The least expected part of a game is where I learned that Duke Nuken Forever release schedule went from "When it's done" status to "Never."

"Two Worlds" was horrible.

"Oblivion" was disappointing compared to "Morrowind."

And there's no word of an Elder Scrolls V yet. And probably never will be since Bethesda now has the Fallout franchise cow to milk.

I must toss this out before someone does I found Spore to be disappointing with it being so hyped and review it was good til I got the the space age

Borderlands was a big disappointment for me. The presentation and gameplay were great, but the plot almost didn't exist at all.

My most memorable dissapointment was when the TV advertised a local video game players contest to win the new console, provided you got the best score on this one certain game. I though "Yeah! A competition that even I can compete in has arrived!" I tell my parents through the week, and they brush it off over and over, acting like it didn't exist. My pride sank a couple more knotches, watching other kids once again have yet another chance that I don't.

When Windows 95 came out,
it wasn't long before it was no longer possible to sit down at a brand new
computer and write a game on it.

Before then I wrote hundreds of games for free in as little as one day on
all kinds of computers. Now, practically nobody else can even play them.

Windows 7 isn't that much different than Windows 95.
Windows Viruses probably wrecked the economy as much as ENRON AIG GM etc.
Everyone who uses Windows might actually have a chance of some ROI
if they took the money spent on Windows to Las Vegas instead.

Fallout 3... I spent $50 hoping it at least resembled its predecessors a little bit. Not in graphics, but in depth of gameplay, coherency of writing, and consistency of the world. No such luck.

Yes, I play for storyline and Borderlands was very promising until you kill the last boss and realize you get nothing for your effort.

Jeah, that game made me real upset.

Agreed. And neither as good as Daggerfall. "See the mighty capital of Vvardenfell (pop. 5)!" "See the mighty capital of Cyrodil (pop. 6)!" Stupid.

Republic: The Revolution was a big let down for me. And the faux-Cyrillic alphabet made my eyes bleed.

Magna Carta. It's an OK game, but I just couldn't take the voice acting for more than a handful of hours. The plot wasn't very bright, but it wasn't dumb enough to make me stop playing.

In Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (Lucifer's Call version), the Metatron battle was disappointing. I was a bit overleveled, but I still thought he would be tough, being the right hand of God, and all. I went into the battle unprepared, not even bothering with changing my resistances, just to see what I was dealing with. I happened to be using equipment that even made me weak against him.
And, somehow, I won. It wasn't an easy battle, but I won on the first try, with half an effort.

Knights of the Old Republic II, the last third of the game. What a mess, what an insulting mess.

Metal Fatigue . . . its everything a big-mech fan wants, yet they screwed it up with a cheating AI, lowsy unit sounds, glitches, and an unnecessary 3rd layer of combat (cmon, with big mechs, why bother fighting underground with only tanks?). I really wished i could have played through the whole single player missions, but that was impossible. The only aspect worth playing was the Skirmish, but the AI cheats.

This too.

The way they built up the enemies made it sound like you were going to come up against nightmares personified. Hunger, Death, and Betrayal (Darths Nihilus, Sion, and Traya) looked like they should have been hard to beat, but ultimately they were pushovers.

I was disappointed with how short Bioshorck II's story was compared to he first's.

I see I'm not the only one here who loves a good story in a game.
