a question for music fanatics--AND iPod/phone lovers
let's get to know each other like this--and i know that people have done this before, but heck with it, as long as it's not a constant subject on WP, it'll suffice.
Put your iPod/phone or other mp3/music player on shuffle and for ten consecutive songs, describe what each individual song means to you.
I can't really do it right now cuz it's really late as of this writing and i don't want to wake up my family, so I'll post any example you'd want out of me later.

have fun!

1. The Killers - Andy You're A Star. In middle school I ended up having a huge crush on one of my best friends who introduced me to the Killers. I guess you could say I was "curious" at that time, and needless to say, when I told her, she did not feel the same. She is a wonderful person for remaining my friend though. Oh and I am a female as well.
2. Interpol - Obstacle 1. Coincidence; that same person introduced me to Interpol. This song just evokes passionate emotions when Paul starts singing "It's in the way that she poses.." his voice is beautiful.
3. Franz Ferdinand - This Fire. Haha all of these songs I loved in middle school start coming back on. Well this song doesn't mean much but it is pretty fun. I guess it just reminds me of when I saw FF for the first time at Coachella.
4. The Magnetic Fields - Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits. Okay when I thought I lost someone who is really meaningful to, this tri-CD album [69 love songs] got me through the day. I also miss him like hell when he's gone. So the part "If you knew how I long for you now that you're gone, you'd grow wings and fly home to me, home tonight" means a lot.
5. Secret Shine - Temporal. I guess that when I got into Secret Shine it opened the door to a lot of beautiful shoegaze music. I never knew this genre actually existed although I have always loved the feel and sound.
6. The Chameleons - Swamp Thing. Okay this song means a lot. When I went through those three years of heavy depression, and then on and off after, this song really just allowed me to cry. Cry my eyes out and drain me of all emotions. Then it felt okay afterward.
I think I am going to stop right here =]
Friends Theme Song - This was for a warm up song for the games guy at the youth group I run sound for. I play random theme songs or just flat out weird songs for an intro.
Make Me Believe by Angel Taylor - My brother bought it back when he synced his iPod on my iTunes library.
The Wonder Years by MxPx - I got hooked on this band by sitting in at the music chooser in the local christian book store and I stumbled upon this band and I sort of still like them.
Where by Lisbeth Scott - I really liked Chronicles of Narnia music so I got it from the library and this song was apart of it.
No More Tears by Ozzy Osbourne - I got hooked on his music from a friend who burnt me a couple cd's of his good music, not the crappy stuff.
Midnight Christmas Eve by Trans Siberian Orchestra - I found out about them from "Wizards In Winter" synced to some guy's Christmas lights.

1. Im there too by Michelle Featherstone - surprised this one came up first. This song remind me of my middle son and
all people that dont have a voice. People a lot of times because you wont look them in the eye, or you wont talk dont think you exist. The song was a big influence in me starting my website/blog and why I wrote an application called Im there too , for FC communication. I know my son is there too and I love the person he is.
2. Dont give up - Peter Gaberial and Kate bush - I havent lived an easy life. As I really dont think anyone in this world does.
This was the song that helped me while I was in the military trying to get my memory back after I was hurt pretty bad. This song reminds me of a saying by Henry Ford. - “Life is a series of experiences, each of which makes us bigger, even though it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grieves which we endure help us in our marching onward.”
3. Just be Me - Kirsty Hawkshaw - You cant change the world and make it a better place. But you can change yourself and make it a better place. You got to find the joy in yourself not others.
4. Across the Universe - The beatles - It not the words of this song that attracted me, but a video that Fione Apple did for this song. There was so much chaos going on around her, and as she sang this song, she walked through all of it calmly. Not letting the world steal her sense of peace. I think that is what the beatles mean when they say nothing is going to change my world.
5. You get what you give - The New Radicals - I need to get an alarm clock that allows me to play this song when I first get up in the morning. Just one that gets me going. And you do get what you give. To many times I was trying to squeeze an orange expecting to get apple juice. What I mean by that, is if you give angry to people expect people to give angry back. I try to treat people now the way I want them to react to me.
6. I still believe - The call - This one is weird. I am not sure if I believe in reincarnation, but I have a recurring dream where this songs plays. I am a priest in world war one wandering around the trenches , giving comfort and last rites to soldiers. Then I hear a soldier outside the trenches , screaming for help, no one will help him, so I jump outside the trenches and run towards him, I reach him and grab his hand then there is a loud explosion and lots of light and the dream ends.
7 Kind and Generous - Natalie Merchant - This just reminds me to be thankful to the great people that have been in my life. Yes there have been others that were not so nice. Them I forget, but the people that said a kind word or took the time for me, them I am very thankful for.
8. Sweetest Things - U2 - I just really like U2..
9. History repeats it self - AOS - I love reading about history and great things some individuals have done. Also read about
some of the unpleasant things that have been done in human history. It is so strange how human behavior repeats it self in our history and present. Certain behaviors do cause suffering and certain ones cause liberation. Doesnt matter what you call your movement or think things will be different. When a group claims to be better than anyone else and the other group lesser not worth their time, you better be ready to fight or run.
10. Do I make you proud - Taylor Hicks - This one my mom gave to me, she said it remind her of me so much. Its also the same song I put on my oldest sons MP3 player when he was having such a hard time at school.
Thanks I enjoyed that, and welcome to WP..
