Hopefully I'm not the only one dealing with the identity theft problem, but I really was asking for it because ever since I've stayed logged in and haven't signed out of my Facebook account I was fine until recently. Now I keep getting an error and almost got back to the page where I could report my problem every time and never got a response because of course I sent the wrong email once but anyway....does anyone here who has been hacked know a way to get through to the administrators to do something? I mean, I already know about reporting what exactly I did and the screen shot and all that but can we all work out a way to get past this problem in an efficient matter and dodge the complexity once and for all?
I am sick of not having my perfectly good original account to contact my friends, so all you computer geeky freakies (no offense intended, just being playful) please get cookin' on a solution!

thanks ever so much
c.l.

So far, I haven't. Hopefully I won't.

Did you ever use Facebook on a shared computer or something?

Never did like facebook, I was the least popular.

Good thing I don't have it anymore, seems like a lot of screwy things happen on there.

I have never been hacked but if you have been hacked, What you should do is this,

Change you password like superboyian did.

Stop using third party applications on Facebook like Farmville, Mafia Wars, Social Interview, etc They are not regulated by Facebook so people can hack into them and steal information from users using them. I understand they can be fun and addicting but try your best to avoid them.

Don't Click on links from friend in a message like "Hey, I saw you in this video, I can't believe this you got to see it, etc" If the link looks suspicious with numbers (53.533.932 or any other variation of that) or another site you never herd of, Don't follow it.

I have noticed that new fan pages are forcing you to go to an outside site and take surveys to see the content. Don't do the survey that some pages forces you to do them, someone might hack them or deliver the info directly to a hacker. Not to mention the surveys might also force you to give a cell phone number, which enrolls you in a dumb subscription service or something and might open the door to new spam and such

Im sure if you follow these you shouldn't encounter much more in the future. Hope this helps :D

My Facebook account has never been hacked but one of my websites has. Nothing was damaged or erased or anything, but the hacker did leave a message saying that my password was too easy to guess. Of course, after that, I changed my password to something much less obvious.

I caught a virus from facebook. It totally wiped out my ;laptop with Windows XP. I fixed it by loading Linux, and I like it even more now (the laptop). I don't like messing around on there very much now, and I have not been hacked. My passwords are not easy to hack though.

hmmm... Not that I know of. I recently established an account there, like a few days ago. Thanks for the "heads up" about the problems with hakers. Image

As far as I know, the only way people can "hack" such accounts is via phishing, so don't enter your username and password into random sites or follow links from e-mails.

If you leave yourself logged into your Facebook account on your own personal computer you shouldn't have a problem unless someone else has physical access to your computer while it's logged in to your user, or at a stretch maybe manages to access your WiFi network and packet sniff it then spoof cookies, but that would take a fair amount of effort, and probably quite a bit of trial and error too.
