hi everyone :) new NT here with an Aspie boyfriend

hi everybody i just wanted to introduce myself a little bit since i've just now registered. i've become very interested in autism as my cousin deals with that, and with asperger's because my granddad is diagnosed, one of my best friends is undiagnosed, and my boyfriend is undiagnosed but most definitely a member of the club. he doesn't seem to comprehend why i absolutely adore him and as we live together, that's definitely required me learning how to better understand him and certain asperger tendencies that confound me and that are difficult for him to identify or even explain. i hope i can learn some things from you all and from participating in these boards i'm glad this site exists, that's for sure!

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

Welcome to WP. It's great that you're actively trying to understand the people in your life who are on the spectrum. The fact that my family is so supportive is really encouraging. I hope you find helpful info here.

Nice to see that you've chosen to have a AS bf. Glad to see you wish to learn about him. Not surprised that he might not understand why you adore him. Over time, hope he will. Having had previous experience of being around others who have autism/AS will help you.
