Was browsing another forum and found this.
Very curious as to how everyone on the spectrum will score on it.
Haven't done it myself yet, but I will.

http://www.aquiziam.com/quizzes/body_language_quiz.php

Edit: My results

General : 9/10 (90%)
Lying : 2/10 (20%)
Sex Signals : 3/10 (30%)
Facial Expressions : 7/10 (70%)
Intercultural : 6/10 (60%)
Territory and Positioning : 3/10 (30%)
Body Pointing : 5/10 (50%)
Dominance and Submissiveness : 4/10 (40%)
Anxiety and Confidence : 3/10 (30%)
Physicality and Attractiveness : 5/10 (50%)
Overall Score: 47/100

I also guessed quite a few, usually by process of elimination. I've looked up some of the cultural ones, but there weren't too many, anyway.
Surprisingly, I've been taught much of this stuff by my parents. I've found myself remembering a lot of the things my mom told me, plus some of the things I've randomly picked up through reading.

Quote:
Well, if you’re a man then, believe it or not, you’re actually just above average. If you’re a woman and you’re score is under 50 then you probably often wonder why you wind up with men that are such complete and utter losers.
Wow, that's not very nice.
Quote:
The good news is that with a little extra attention to your body language, and other people’s, you could really begin to experience the difference. Reading body language is just like any other skill – it takes practice. Really great sportspeople and actors spend a tremendous amount of time watching how others do it. Try going to a party and blend into the background and then watch how people are interacting with each other. Try and predict what will happen and why. You’ll be amazed at how well this works and how hard it is not to participate.
I've been to parties, albeit not large ones, but still found it easier to not participate. While observation works, it's not easy to make sense of the patterns without being able to hear most of the conversations.
Quote:
It’s programmed into human psychology that we should take part. The problem is that when you’re “out there” it’s hard to see what is really going on. Try watching some movies – not for the sake of the story – but to watch the actors. This really works. Actors use body language as the tools of their trade. When we talk about bad acting we really mean bad and unconvincing body language. Still, body language is something that you feel you’re beginning to understand.
Heh, I've watched movies and couldn't really distinguish between bad and good actors. I usually end up repeating someone else's opinions about actors.

An interesting test overall, but it's easier to do this kind of test than to actually apply these skills in real life. I can replay situations in my head and analyze them. However, when something new comes up, it's difficult to process these signals right away. I often realize what was happening all along much, much later. I've definitely improved on my understanding of nonverbal cues, even compared to a year ago (now that I'm actually interacting more with people and learning from them), but it's still a very slow process.

Okay. The results so far are mostly lower than in this thread: http://intjforum.com/showthread.php?p=1 ... ost1035152
I'd like to see whether people on the spectrum would score lower on average than INTJ's in this thread.
While it's hard to draw any conclusions so far, I'm hypothesizing that people on the spectrum would, on average, score a little lower but not much lower than introverts. Body language might be mostly learned, and again, this quiz does not actually require people to demonstrate their knowledge of body language in fast paced everyday situations.

A LITTLE HELP WOULDN'T HURT. Get a body language book! Spend more time on this website. So you’re not a complete fool but we’ll still bet that you feel uncomfortable at parties and often wonder why you find it so hard to communicate with other people. You’re also often surprised when a person suddenly kisses you or just walks off to talk to someone else. You probably cross your arms a lot. There’s more than a sixty percent chance that you’re still with the first person you had sex with (or wish you were). The problem is that you recognise just enough body language for it to disturb you. Mostly, you don’t want to accept the truth of what you see. Understanding body language is like looking into a mirror and seeing another world on the other side. You just can’t accept the truth of what you’re seeing. Most people go into denial at this point and go for block-out. Most people will believe something that is flattering rather than what is true. In short, you’re OK at recognising body language you just don’t really believe in what you see. This is a good time to shed your illusions. This is the point where you decide whether to accept reality or retreat into the pink candy floss world of your own self-deceptions. Is this harsh? Definitely! True – oh yes. You have the potential to become good at recognising and projecting the sort of body language that will get you what you want but you really need to move from being interested in the subject to embracing it as a critically important part of human communication.e

So i didnt understand most of those questions, didnt understand the words, or what the question meant, but answered the best that i could... i already knew i have no idea what body language is, so im not surprised haha, but interesting quiz thanks for posting it

I'm still taking it but some of these questions are awful. For example humans giving off pheromones detectable by other humans is not proven but still being debated.

OK, i quit. Too many of these have nothing to do with body language.

But a lot of the questions I knew from reading books or attending management classes not from being aware.
And I think as we get older we aquire ways to help ourselves that NT's don't have to learn or practice.

Yes, there are a few that have nothing to do with body language, I guess. You could do the shorter version instead, I think it's more to the point. I would say this test is more about being able to read people, as well as some acquired social knowledge (the cultural part).

I think you and I are around the same area on the spectrum. The only reason why I scored so high is because of the books and various people who spent time training me. I am also 42, so that helps as well. I'm glad to see you back :-)

If your're under 13 years old then you shouldn't take your score to seriously at all. You need to know that sophisticated body language recognition really only starts between the ages of 14 and 18 years old
