I finally got some SUPERGENIUSES to help me kill all the
FLASHPLAYER infestation and prevent re-infestation.

WP is GROUND ZERO for the original infestation so I haven't
gone fully back online just yet. Flashplayer cannot be
removed without booting or installing from an uninfected
machine, to a cleaned machine, because it is even write
protected against superuser. (init.rd......libflashplayer.so)
With all but WP blocked, and
no FLASHPLAYER, things are still getting screwier and screwier HERE. (Just as Youtube has over the past 2 years)

What does this mean?
Hmmm. It seems like your problem not mine.

Please understand that I am not offended or offending WP.

From my point of view we are helping each other solve serious problems.

And I am grateful for WP and its other users who helped me,
even with this technical problem.

I don't hold WP responsible for whatever the problem is.
I thank them for letting me know I have a (technical) problem.
(By triggering it accidentally or otherwise.)

I am not attacking WP in any way.
I would be likely to donate if I could do so securely.

If WP is ground zero for this problem, why does it seem that you are the only one with the problem? You would think that this thread would be filled with people having the same complaint.

Maybe it could be the ads rather than WrongPlanet itself.

I've had at least one browser hijack when WP was the only site I had up. Different regions, different targeted ads, who knows? Lately, after maybe three or four unplanned redirections in one day (not WP, it was on a site unrelated to autism) I finally bit the bullet and installed Firefox with AdblockPlus. Never a hiccup since then.

ETA: Oooo, looky there, 3600 posts! That works out to (mutter, mutter) about a hundred posts a month on average.

Yeah, I haven't had a single issue (other than the occasional server overload, but that's everyone); and I have always had Firefox and AdBlock Plus.

Recently, I updated Firefox and then did a system restore to before I updated. This made Firefox crash on startup, so I used Chrome while I re-downloaded the new version. I saw the ads on here for the first time, and I don't regret installing AdBlock one bit.

Certainly, you are all going to panic much more than I seem to be doing now,
if I am right about what's happening.
Flashplayer has only broken my entire INTERNET access and cellphone,
and penetrated this wifi browser terminal.
Imagine an electric power and digital communications blackout.
No twitter, no texting, no cellphones, no VoIP, no HDTV, no Face Space,
What will you do in the dark? 8O

I am the only one who can see the problem.
It greatly slows down an otherwise very very very fast OS
(If yours is always slow, no big deal?)
and installs Flashplayer as hidden files which I can find and make visible.

And no, its not the ads. They are very well blocked now.
