Last time I became obsessed with computer games it was like earlier in the decade but even then I rarely played any games. Maybe because I sucked at video games so much I eventually decided to quit. I never owned a gaming system more advanced than a N64. I just didnt care to game anymore.

My sister had a SIMs addiction though. I had fun with it too. I played the game most of the time to design houses, malls, and hotels. There was another home design game I enjoyed alot. I never got hook on those games where you interacted with other players cuz by the time such games were created, I stopped playing.

I'm an internet addict but mostly for discussion forums, fanfiction or watching movies/TV. Sometimes I'll come across an interesting flash game and play that for an hour until I get bored of it.

Originally this discussion was going to be associated with just Aspies but considering how many NTs I know are gaming addicts, I'm probably the only one in the world that's never gotten into it. Am I?

No I dont have one either. I like to occasionally play mahjong, sodoku, or hidden object and match 3 type games. But that is just to take a break from my work or if I am super bored. Sodoku is purely for my love of numbers. I also like crosswords.

The epic adventure type games and sims are not my thing at all- I have a vivid imagination and have my own adventures in my head, especially when I listen to music or have a long drive. I dont need gaming for that.

I'm not addicted to videogames. I get too frustrated with them because I'm not very good.

Games are becoming more and more mainstream, especially after the Wii craze got everyone's parents to pick up a controller. And now there's Farmville on Facebook, which apparently has 80 million active players.

It seems old-fashioned to call all people who play games "addicts", though. While it's accurate in some cases, for most people it's just a regular hobby. You wouldn't call cinema goers "move addicts" or people reading in a book store "book addicts", after all.

I was wondering the same thing, about myself. I thought that I was the only non-gamer.

I used to play video games all the time, but haven't touched my 360 in about a year now. There would be a time I played on the computer or N64/XBOX/etc. for hours on end, and now I have no desire to touch it. It's probably because I'm getting older too.

Anyway no, you aren't the only one. :P

I am terribly addicted to second life, and no its nothing about sex on there, just a place I am able to interact socially and actually have some friends, I don't actually think of it as a game

Sorry, I do have a gaming addiction. Favorite genres are FPS and RTS and combat flight simulation. However, it is good that you don't have an addiction Raisedbyignorance. Congrats.

I play Wordscraper on Facebook. I never have more than five games going on at once (which amounts to 10-20 moves a day). I'm much more into messageboards.

I was addicted to my playstation 2. I spent a lot of time killing on the TV. I'm sure I played some other games but I don't remember. I sold it 5 or 6 years ago and have not had a game system since.

I used to be addicted to games, but they stopped making ones I like. So thank you, games manufacturers, for not catering to my tastes anymore and setting me free.

I play videogames quite often, but I'm not addicted to them...not sure if I ever have been.

Addicted is people who play MMOs and end up dying because they don't stop playing to use the bathroom or eat.

Though I guess there are much less extreme examples of videogame addiction ¬_¬
