Hi there, I'm new to the Wrongplanent. This site is fascinating and very informational. My son is 6 and half now and we knew he's on the spectrum since he before he turned 2.
While I know some of the abbreviations used here others are new to me. Is there a link where I can quickly catch up? Thank you in advance.

I dunno' about a link. Maybe I or someone else should make a thread. Hm.

Anyway, the ones used are mostly:

ASD - Autism Spectrum Disorder (?)

AS - Aspergers (?)

NT - Neurotypical or normal type. I've seen both.

You're right on all three. And by the way, welcome to Wrong Planet, kovazub94! ! :D

Also, some more that get used sometimes:

NLD or NVLD = Nonverbal Learning Disability
HFA = High-Functioning Autism
LFA = Lower-Functioning Autism
PDD = Pervasive Developmental Disorder
ADHD or ADD = Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
WP = Wrong Planet
ToM =Theory of Mind

YMBAAI or alternately YMBAI = "you might be an aspie if" ...

despite seeing this one on the "you might be an aspie if ... " topic, it took me forever to figure it out :(

PDD-NOS = pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified

if you don't know, ask. aspies are pretty forthright information givers.
