So, I'm dying to go on one of those artist Moleskine sketchbook adventures where you fill up every page with something awesome, but when looking for a new one on the interwebs I found: CA RESIDENTS: PROP 65 WARNING:
WARNING! This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.

What?

Does anyone know what this chemical is/is it only dangerous if you decide to eat it or light it on fire?

(End Note: Love the environment. Hate corporations. But nothing compares to the paper quality of the Moleskine sketchbook. It's just too delightful to be morally picky.)

I never knew that :? . I quickly googled it- not much info, but someone suggested that it may just be the red dye in the covers. It's probably nothing too deadly if you think about everything else you're exposed to over a day.

I had a moleskine once, but I never really liked it. I prefer ring-bound books (where I can rip a page out if I really need to) like Daler Rowney hardbacks.

I found out the cover is PVC so just don't eat it or light it on fire and you should be good. I think they had to put that warning there because laser-etching Moleskines has become really popular but it's really dangerous for those who do the etching.
