Depends on the alternate choices.

If I had the choice whether to be born or not, I would have chosen life. And my childhood had a lot of physical and sexual abuse in it. I wouldn't want to go through it all over again, but I am glad to be alive. While I was going through it, I might have chosen differently, but from where I am now, I'm glad to be alive.

Even with the social difficulties I have, even though I'm lonely sometimes, there is so much to learn and experience, and I wouldn't want to miss that.

I would have chosen not to be born. The bad times have always out weighed the good. I would never commit suicide unless I had a painful diesease or faced life in prison. I guess I'll suffer thru this life until the bitter end.

Next time I get the choice, I won't.

People wanted my birth mother to have an abortion when she got raped and pregnant with me. If I ever find out who the doo gooders who stopped her are, I will do something horrible to them. I remember as young as three wishing I was dead and enviving those who were murdered or had terminal illnesses (Make A Wish Adds did nothing but make me even more jelous of kids with terminal illnesses). I secretly wish someone would come along and murder me. I can't wait for death and wish it would hurry up. If I wasn't Christian I would have commited sucide a long time ago. I wonder why I never tried to drink poison as a child or tried to drown myself in the bathtub.

If you're here, you chose YES.

It's just an amusement park where souls come to play. Sometimes we forget it's all make-believe, so the horror houses and freak shows get pretty scary, and I must admit, it's been an all-day ticket and sometimes I get very tired waiting for my ride home. But I've met some wonderful people here, and I wouldn't trade those experiences for anything.

I'm happy to be alive, so I would have chosen life. :)

I love how the majority said no, but no one that is saying no is posting.

It's okay. I said no.

People are not born for their own sake but for the sake of those who are already alive.

This is a great paradox because the autistic person lives only for himself, and this is the real reason why he is such a repulsive character, and should not have been born in the first place.

This is a very interesting and thought-provoking topic. I would choose life, because despite all the things I struggled with as a child and teenager, I made it to adulthood and turned out okay. I enjoy my life the way it is now and I'm anxious to see what the future holds, for better or for worse.

I voted no, despite the fact that I'm a pretty happy person. I just think that, in the end, it isn't worth the huge effort it costs.

This thread has the potential to get very depressing, especially seeing that the majority of people voted "no."

Myself, I would choose to be alive. I haven't had a terrible life, even though my junior high years were beyond sucky. And as IdahoRose stated above me, I'm curious to see what the future holds.

Hard one. I think my answer would differ if you'd ask me in another point of time. I think my answer depends a lot on my perspective/mood at the moment of voting. I chose ''yes''.
