I know with AS some of us talk while others are speaking but does anyone feel they just "have to?" My dad was mentioning a movie commercial in the middle of the race so it popped into my head Hey Apple started something called Iads dad said he was trying to listen to the commercial so I stormed off into my room. When I want to talk I WANT TO TALK!! !! SHEESH! I'm the type that when something pops into my head I have to say it right then or I forget!

I'm the same, exceptionally worse when my dad comes up from downstairs and interrupts me, I can't take it most of the time!

When Quirks Collide

I have an obsession with being allowed to finish my sentence, even if it's a completely inane one.

This is a problem for me... I have always done my best to be polite and courteous in all situations, but I am very bad about butting in and changing a subject. People complain that they're talking about a certain subject, and I jump in with some so completely unrelated (IN THEIR OPINION), that it breaks up their thoughts. Funny thing is, I don't see my remarks as being unrelated. I wind up feeling silly and embarrassed, which makes me not want to take part in any social conversations.

As with many things, depends on my mood & what's on my mind.

I don't HATE waiting to talk - sometimes I'm afraid if I don't get something out while its in my mind, I'll forget to say it at all, and sometimes I'm so animated by the subject matter that I talk all over someone else without realizing it until after I've done it, but waiting one's turn is simple politeness and as I do not care to behave as an uncultured simpleton, I try always to observe the rules of common courtesy and wait until the other person has completed their thought before blurting something out.

I rather would be the one not talking when there is alot of people, even though there are tons of words that want to come out and when I really want to say something, sometimes I say it at a wrong time and would actually speak really fast, people would end up getting confused.

I pretty much typed this really fast.

The problem is I sit and try to wait for the pause that would allow me to add what I'm thinking, and SOMEONE ELSE JUMPS IN FASTER THAN I CAN START!! !

Conclusison: I hate conversations where more than 1 other person is included.

Yup, same here, when something pops into my head, I have to say it.

Actually the problem I have with being interrupted is sort of the same. I will lose my train of thought if I can't finish.

It bothers me a little, because normally when I talk, it's taken more than a little effort to find words for what I say and get those words lined up correctly, and if I have to wait too long, said words will disappear, and all my effort will have been wasted.

YES! This! I hate it when say you are talking about fat people and then they move on to video games but you still have something to say about obesity. Even if they shut up it's like "okay guys REWIND cause I was left out".

I don't hate having to wait to talk. I just hate when it is never my turn.

Since I can't tell when it is my turn, I either interrupt, or wait until others are looking at me like i have a problem. I am glad that at work, they are used to me and tell me when it is my turn.

I can understand exactly what you're all saying and this issue is, coincidentally, one of my major issues at the moment.

I have three close friends which I think I'm alienating because of conversational skills which I, obviously, greatly lack.

I have waited my turn so darn much that I have jolly well missed out all together!

I have been interrupted and lost my train of thought so darn much that I can't even be bothered to try and continue!

...and when I just shut up and resign myself to being nothing but the great listener that a friend should apparently be...I get asked if there's something wrong!

grrr...utter frustration...and so I'm currently in avoidance mode...

Oh god this. If this happens a lot I just interrupt someone.
