I bought an expensive pair of everyday shoes less than a year ago, they already have a hole or two, the sole rubber is worn down to nothing and the inserts are completely worn too. i have never had a pair of shoes last me more than a year, be it a 20 dollar pair from k-mart or a 100 dollar pair from a shoe store. even the sandals that i bought last month are worn in where the ball of my foot goes and where the joint at the base of my big toe is.

What can i do? this is getting expensive and i dont feel like im walking in an unusual way, my shoes fit right, but they come apart at the seams.

My shoes usually last about a year. That is, they're still wearable and fit for duty, but they're no longer presentable. I think that most people's shoes last up to a year (and usually less) except for the strong leather shoes and boots.

Since I stim standing up and swaying from side to side or rocking back and forth on my feet, I can wear a good pair of sneakers out in a few months.

I've had these shows for years.
They're starting to come apart at the seams a little on the side near where the toes bend.
but other than that, they're still holding up alright.

they're brown Adidas.
Look and feel like leather except for some parts.
Maybe that's why they've held up so long?

I make my shoes last forever because I hate buying shoes! I'm currently in the process of trying to buy new sandals because my 10 year old ones are really painful to wear anymore because they're so worn out. I've already bought two pairs only to have to take them back because they didn't fit comfortably. Shoes suck.

My Doc Marten's last for 5+ years and I have to breakdown and get another pair cause the sole is worn down so much but the rest of the shoe is fine. I would walk to work in winter and my feet wouldn't freeze or get soaked from the oil finish. My feet are wide and most shoes would be done in 6 months cause my bone on the ball of my foot would wear a hole but not so with the Doc's full grain leather. I am flat footed also and they're the only pair where my legs gave out before my feet did. I use to stand for about 6 hours on a concrete floor.

In the summer I prefer the soft Teva sandals.

My high top converse have will be 4 years old in December. They have a few holes but nothing dangerous and they are super comfortable. Now, if you mean how long did they last before they got holes, then a little over three years. And this is being worn daily. Walking to and from school, and loads of other places.

My shoes last as long as my mother lets me wear them (about a year.)
I walk on my toes, so the fabric and rubber pieces are torn around that area...

When I was a runner my sneakers would last me 7 months. Now that I am fat and old I make them last a little over a year.

I have shoes I have had for years since my teens years. I think my oldest pair I have from when I were12 and the other from when I was 14. I don't wear my shoes much so that's why they lasted a while.

I have tossed out several pairs since I have lived in Oregon. I wore them everyday so they got worn out. I had work shoes I had to toss out and they were giving me blisters so I tossed them out at work after having them for two years. Plus one of them had a hole in the front. I have had other tennis shoes from high school and I also wore them out too and had to toss them out, they were hurting the back of my ankles. I also had a pair from when I was 15 and finally tossed them out before I moved to Oregon and my mom called them my "crappy shoes" and would try and throw them away but I always took them out of the trash. I also had another pair I had from high school and the bottoms were falling off and one of them had a little hole with my foot is and I tossed them out too last year. A few times I had almost tripped while walking in them thanks to the bottoms coming off. Now I wear my Sketcher shoes which be worn out someday too and I would have to get new shoes for work (I have had them for four years now) and to wear all the time when I leave my apartment.

I have worn the same pair every day for the past 3 years because I can't stand shoe shopping. They have become a little bit worn out, but I'm pretty sure they can last at least one more year.

...Walk around in bare feet and wear out your feet soles instead.
Only kidding. I wouldn't know what to do as I've never had this problem. My shoes last me anywhere from 6 months to 3 years, depending on the type. Boots and sneakers last me longer than slip-ons.

They last pretty much forever, unless my feet change shape. I'm in a wheelchair. I pretty much only walk for transfers or a few steps (ability to do so varies).
