Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with cleaning some songs up a bit for under-10-year-olds. But Kidz Bop...UGH! They completely ruin the songs by having a group of tone-deaf seven-year-olds sing them - not on pitch, not on time, and usually removing most of the song. I especially hate when they do it to songs that are already fine for or even aimed at kids - "The Middle," "Move Along," etc. To me, I think these CDs are actually worse for kids than an edited original because if they're singing it with their friends on the playground, etc., they're going to be made fun of if they don't know the words (besides what would normally be edited, since that's what's played on the radio). Now, if maybe they'd just skip over inappropriate words, and at least have one or two kids who could actually sing instead of sounding like someone recorded a bunch of kids screaming together at a party, my opinion would be different.

An interesting note: In 2006, Pete Wentz, of Fall Out Boy, prevented Kidz Bop from covering the single "Dance, Dance!" because, no matter how many words you change in that song, there is no way to truly mask its sexual meaning. This is also an issue with other songs Kidz Bop has covered, including "Lollipop" and "Paparazzi."

I never understood Kidz Bop's appeal. Why buy a generic CD full of kids singing popular songs when you can just go out and buy the CDs with the original songs? Even when I was a kid, I never wanted a Kidz Bop CD.

Same here.
My faith in humanity was decreased by 346% when I learned about the existence of the Kidz Bop Beatles CD.

I don't know. I think a KidzBop cover of a band with disgusting death metal lyrics like Devourment or I Declare War would be pretty funny.

Basically, I'm saying that I think KidzBop would actually enhance a song about murdering prostitutes.

A great gift for that person who you really hate but have to give a gift to. Combining bad covers with terrible singing and children - this must violate some laws on crimes against humanity.

I know. Kids start listening to the real thing in grade school. Before that, it's sing along stuff, so I don't know who their audience is.

All the songs that are generally on thsoe albums anyway, the intended audience seems to be young teenagers or kids, there's not much point to editing them. But, it makes sales... so, they'll keep doing it I guess. :?

Me and my brother hate kidz bop with a passion. It used to be that they made a new album every year. Then, it became evvery half year. I remember approaching my brother, bearing terrible news. The news that KB 13 was released. He fell to his knees, looked into the sky , and yelled "no".

If Melissa Cherry from The Onion was a real singer, I would love to see Kidz Bop cover her music. She was a singer modeled after Britney Spears who's music was chock full with ill-disguised sexual references.

Here's the excerpts of her music used in the onion movie. It's hilarious. There's like three excerpts of three different songs. The last one is the funniest. It starts at 1:57.

Kidz Bop literally goes into the homes of hardcore music fans and takes a dump in their mouths as they sleep.

I just remembered that they covered Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends." Not only is that song not exactly appropriate for kids, but it's about Billie Joe Armstrong's dad dying of cancer when Billie was only 10.

So they basically took what was supposed to be a memorial for Billie's father and desecrated it. I find that very disrespectful not only to Billie, but to his father's memory.

Reminds me of what Jason Derulo did to Imogen Heap's song Hide and Seek. Hide in Seek is about the Holocaust, Jason Derulo's song Whatcha Say is about a breakup. facepalm.

This may come as a surprise to some of you but I'm not exactly a fan of Kidz Bob. I love pop music & I do like remakes but I'll stick to the young pop artist instead of those kidz. Some of those Kidz Bob songs are extremely inappropriate for little kids to be singing
