Hi:

I'm interested in knowing if anybody out there has ever been in a Polyamorous relationship or would describe themselves as a Polyamorist? I would think that most people couldn't handle it.

There are much better websites on this topic then wiki.. at least there used to be.

I am not poly, but I have been in a polyamorous relationship. And your correct, most probably could not do it.

I'm in a poly relationship, and we're handling it quite well.

It takes a different paradigm to understand it. It might help if you read "The Ethical Slut" by Dossie Easton.

I am i a poly relationship, too. It works fine, better than my monogamous attempts in the past.
But: you need to be the person for it and need to find partners who are persons for it, too.
Then it´s not more difficult than maintaining any other intimate relationship (and that can be quite challenging anyway... for us aspies for sure!).

I could accept a poly relationship, as long as there were no other men involved.

The thought of sharing a girlfriend with a lesbian woman does isn't a negative thought, and it would free me up to play with computers instead of having to be a social animal that has to go out every night and party.

Too much work. I'd love to have multiple women worshiping me, attending to my needs and providing visual entertainment. However, this is more likely to end in jealously, drama, etc. Than bliss. So I accept monogamous relationships as being superior.

My husband and I had a gf for a while and it was lots and lots of fun. I also had several love interests at the same time and they all knew - there were no secrets. It was fantastic. Monogamy can make me feel caged.

I'm not bisexual, i'm just open to sharing a GF with another girl. There - end of discussion.

It doesn't mean you have to share in their relationship. You could have other people and she could have others. It's basically just an open relationship where all parties involved know it. They don't all have to be involved with one another. Some of mine were, but most of them were not.

I'm not totally against polyamory but it looks like too much work. Having just a one on one relationship is hard enough but to have a lot of people seems like it would be psychologically and emotionally stressful.

You don't have to be bisexual.

Polyamory doesn't mean a threesome or orgy although I guess you could make it out to be.

I think when I first heard about polyamory I was repelled by it because I thought it mean you had to have sex with all partners.

I've never been in a relationship with a single person, let alone multiple people.
