I run a 2007 Macbook on OS X 10.4.11. About a month ago my parents changed the wi-fi box. This particular box will give me access for about less than an hour, then starts to turn my access on and off every second until shutting it off automatically. If I leave the wi-fi on when I shut the laptop down, I will only be given 5 minutes of access when I turn it back on.
I've updated software on Firefox, Safari and the network connection, but nothing helps.

However my sister runs a similar Macbook w/ OS X 10.5 and she doesn't have any problems like this at all. Should I update to 10.5 to hopefully keep up w/ the software in the wi-fi box?

(It actually took me 20 minutes to write this post since the internet access was going on-off again)
