All through out my teenage years I was told "These are the best times of your life" . For me I viewed these as the worst, I hated my life 95% of the time through school. So is it better for us on the spectrum after school? I just graduated and wanted to know how you all feel?

Personally I think things for me will get much better once i get a job and start college.

High school? Really? "These are the best times of your life."

Aha! Hahaha!

HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!HA! HA!

That's a joke for almost everyone I know. Even NT's. I don't believe for a second most would choose to go back to High School.

Yes it does! I hated middle school, high school was a little better but college is awesome. In college, there are many groups of people. I tend to hang with the anime club and renaissance club people. They're odd and quirky like me so I fit right in.

I think whoever said "high school will be the best years of your life" never went to college, or was insanely popular there. :/

My junior high years were the worst years of my public school history. High school was good, at times, but my best years were when I was in elementary and preschool.

Anyway, I just graduated from high school two months ago, and I'll be starting college in a week. I can't wait. I'm hoping to make a lot of new friends in college.

I think I have 3 good memories of high school, all which total maybe 30-40 seconds. The rest of it is pretty much blotted out. Best time in life? Pffft, maybe for some, but getting out that sh*t hole was the best part.

Life since hasn't been a cakewalk, but as an adult you aren't imprisoned with the a**holes. You can quit, walk off, leave (circumstances may make it tough or impossible, but at least it isn't the state saying it's illegal for you to remove yourself from an abusive situation).

Best days of your life huh? that sets the bar pretty low. To be honest, five years from now (im class of 2005), youll wonder where the time went. My four years were a slight step up from hell, but from time to time, i almost miss it. things were predictable; predictably crappy. Im now completely accustomed to being treated like utter garbage, i think that HS would be so hard if had to repeat it now. I would go into "shutdown" mode and sit there staring straight ahead, completely ignorant of the jerk poking me with the pencil.

Hate to say it, i really do; but unless you father is fithy rich and is willing to buy you an island paradise, then you have just completed the best years of you life. welcome to the long slow slide that ends at retirement.

Yes. I find that things get better and better as I get older. It is hard to attain independence, but the more you have, the easier things are overall. My experience, anyway.

Out of there. Congratulations. When I was in school I was always put in remedial reading. I was concerned how I would do in college but I turned out to be a good student better than I ever was earlier in school.

There's no standard answer to that question. Some say life is what you make it.

For most Aspies, I'd say the best time of your life starts after high school, when you get to college and realize the dimwits either pulled their heads out of their asses, or simply didn't make it that far. Kind of like a reward for surviving the gauntlet! :D

I like high school, although a whole bunch of crappy things happened to me there. I did not enjoy college. High school was good because it forced you to be with other people, and now that I am out of school (graduated college 5 years ago), there are not that group of people who you see everyday...and it is really really hard finding new people to talk to (more loneliness now).

So high school was great for that reason.

High school was a non-event for me. I skipped the eighth grade, was home-schooled for ninth and tenth, and spent the eleventh and twelfth grade years in a tiny school where just about everybody had some kind of mental issue and parents who were in denial about it. Long story. But the upshot was that I basically spent my time with my nose in my books, being occasionally bullied by various idiots, keeping my test average above 100%, learning to program, and staying out of the way of my sociopathic stepfather. What was really hard for me was actually my late teens, when I left home without the skills required to live on my own (see aforementioned parental denial). I'm really surprised I survived the years from age 16 to 21... those were the toughest, so far. I don't think they would've been, though, if only somebody had bothered to notice that I had severe deficits in a lot of areas that I needed to learn to compensate for.
