Hey guys. Are there any big radio listeners here? Well, I listen to a lot of radio, and some of the DJs annoy me. For example, in the morning, every time I switch on the radio, the DJ on the air is usually some guy who likes to make weird sound effects when a song is nearing to the end. And it annoys me. Does anyone else experience annoyances like this?

How about when they cut the song or just start talking over it  I love radio but the people sometimes annoy me to no end. It also seems like there is more commercials in the last few years and some of the Dj's are not that good at playing them one station near me has a lot of one over the other commecial at the same time.

It's not the DJs, it's the computers. Most stations have all their music and spots in a server run by an automation system which, despite (or maybe because of) the fact that it's computer-driven, can cause strange things to happen.

If the station has network news at the top of the hour or other timed features that happen at exact points, it's obliged to cut a song wherever it is for a clean start to the next event.

I hate it when a DJ talks over a song I really like, or cuts a song short to go to commercials.
This is going to sound really weird but another thing that really grates is when a song is playing very very slightly too fast or too slow on the radio...anyone else experienced this or am I just strange? :?

I hate it when whatever is running the radio (person or computer) cuts off a song 10 seconds before it ends, or starts a song late. I think this, as well as song selection, is why so many people choose would CDs or an iPod over a radio.

"I listen to Ian Collins everyday on talkSPORT"...and therefore don't encounter such problems

Though I do get sick of the Moose's tiresome jokes!

Alice Cooper lives in my city and broadcasts his radio show from here.

Good ol' Phoenix, Arizona.

And I swear I was sitting feet away from him at concert.

And he's an awesome DJ, plays good music and tells great stories about any BS that comes through his head.

I think it depends on the style of the radio station. I remember listening to pop station when I visited England and the djs did this alot. It was so different to what we get here in BC Canada that it has stuck in my mind, we don't have djs talking over music much.

One thing I detest is when djs voice political opinions about news issues. What makes their personal opinion so important? They aren't political figures or scholars. They are just music djs. I have actually quit listening to CFOX because of this problem.

What I hate are "morning shows" on major radio stations...aiiie, so dumb most of the time!
I used to be a DJ on college radio, and it's so easy to just start talking about random stuff, because no one's in the room with you. I don't mind college DJs because even if they're not very good, it's usually more funny than annoying.
