Any cartoon or other shows which seemed to appeal to your Asperger's - autism in some way?

Years ago was obsessed by the original Star Trek series because it seemed to speak to a large variety of life topics and ideas yet it was all set in the future, not the present.

Did watch a few episodes of the Backyardigans (animal children) too.

Back when I still watched TV, I was really into shows with random-ness, that overall silly stuff.

For some reason, I was really obsessed with Ed, Edd n Eddy as a kid, perhaps it didn't appeal to my Asperger's as much as it did to my hyperactive ADHD, but I was really obsessed with it.

Despite my Dad being a fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, etc... regular sci-fi stuff, I myself wasn't really exposed to it as much. We have the first three episodes (movies?) on DVD for Star Wars, and want to see them, I just keep putting it off.

EDIT: In recent years, I have become obsessed with a few animes here and there, however.

I've always been drawn to Aspergian-like TV characters (Lisa Simpson, House, etc), even before I knew I had AS, or even that AS existed.

I am obsessed with Bones as the main character has some AS qualities. I also watch The Big Bang Theory and Community due to the AS-like characters.

Lion King, Timon & Pumbaa. I think Timon has AS traits and for some reason I could always relate to him. I always wished Timon would retaliate from the Tex Avery syle abuse and eventualy just loose it and have a fit of violent rage. I eventualy stoped watching T&P and wrote myself into my Lion King fan fics where my dog and I were there to protect Timon and all the bad people (animals were NEVER villains in my stories) were afraid of us.

Monster Quest, old school Animal X (I LOVED the creepy feel and even had nightmares from it but loved it anyway) cryptozoology is a special intrest as well.

Sailor Moon (I could relate to Ugasi)

Here's a weird one for ya!

I'm not exactly "obsessed" with it, but the new A&E show The Glades is my latest favorite. Not because there's anyone on it with AS tendencies, but because the characters on it are all, to me, very much NT's, yet in a way that's really comfortable for me. Not really sure why. The main character, Jim Longworth, is in my current avatar.

There's something about pretty much all of the main characters of the show that's appealing to me. They're clearly very NT, yet I'm strangely comfortable with every one of them. It's the mystery of why I am that attracts me to it. I don't even pay much attention to, or remember the mystery stories much. It's the interaction between the characters I find comforting and attractive. I have no idea why. I keep watching in the hopes I'll eventually figure it out.

I bet never will though. But I'll enjoy it anyway.

Spock was my hero. Emotions tend to get in the way and prevent people from doing what's right. I've lived by that ever since. I don't know if I'm wrong to base my ideology so much on a fictional TV show. (Star Trek Voyager made it worse :))

I was also annoyed by the new Star Trek movie and how it tried to make neurotypicals feel better by showing that Kirk's gut-based approach was sometimes needed and that Spock could learn from him. Am I the only one?
