I'd go with anything that hires teenagers if you want easy to get into.

In my experience, cleaning is very easy to get into. As is the temporary seasonal work that some companies offer to help keep things ticking over christmas/summer etc.

Soon, it should be fairly easy to get into retail jobs, as they'll start hiring lots of temporary people for the holiday sales.

Restaurant jobs will often train you, and if you take a tipped position it can be lucrative work. I've driven pizzas, waited tables and poured drinks at various times over the years, and it wasn't unusual for me to make $20/hr+ even doing the lower end driving work. If you're good at the work, bar work can pay really well, you'll probably have to start as a bar back cutting garnishes and stocking ice, but even then you get a piece of the bartender's action and the chance to learn the trade, which can be a career if you want it to be. Another plus is a lot of restaurant jobs will feed you, a major plus if you're trying to support yourself.

Not in Louisiana. I have about 3 years experience doing custodial stuff & I've been unemployed for over two years & I've been putting in apps for that but am lucky to get an interview. The companies here like to hire Mexicans for that & there's a lot of em here

I would say The Goodwill or Salvation Army stores. If you are looking for a job coming up, they will be hiring for bell ringers. Any job where they just want a worker and don't care if you flunk the interview. Sort of like putting a robot to work :P The Goodwill isn't acutally a bad job, you can work only in back and sort all of the donations and rarely deal with people +they are accustomed to non-typical workers. Personally, I would avoid big box , they will want you to know how to do everything and anything on a drop of a hat. Go here, go there, multi-task.

If you can deal with older people, and want a good and stable job with benefits, would be home health aide or ceritfied nurses aide. I tried that job also. It wasnt too bad, it is just a matter of learning and getting into a routine. It is a job in high demand of workers.

It's not a good idea to get into anything related to health care here in Louisiana especially if it's in the public sector. We've been having major budget problems because of crooked politicians so our republican governor has been slashing social services partially health care because he plans on running for president. Those programs are laying people off.

You guys might not be able to get on at Goodwill if your on SSI. Like 7 years ago Louisiana Rehabilitation Services recommended I apply at one that was getting ready to open because I had no work experience. After I filled out my application the women looked over it & asked me a couple questions. I had checked off that I had disabilities & she asked me if I was on any kind of benefits. I told her I was on SSI & she told me that they preferred to hire people who had no income. She said it was a part-time minimum-wage job with no benefits & no advancements & that my disability check would be affected by the income so it would not pay for me to work there. She was right. If you guys are on SSI you should avoid getting dead-end part-time minimum wage jobs. For every $2 you make gross pay before taxes; $1 gets deducted out of your SSI check. My 1st job was a dish-washer & I was making barely anymore than minimum-wage. After I factored in my taxes, cost of transportation, cost of cloths, cost of medical expenses(I have skin allergies & I had to see a dermatologist & get meds because of the chemicals) after those expenses & my reduced SSI check; I was barely making anymore than if I would of been on SSI & not working at all. The 10 months experince did help me get a better job thou

Some of the easiest jobs to get rite now in Louisiana are drug dealing, prostituting & burglary

the service industry is mostly easy to get into. Restaurant kitchens, pizza places, fast food, delivery drivers, these are all as easy as it gets.

Not in my area. Cant get a job in the service industry uinless you have experience; the typical catch22. Burger King won't even consider you if you don't have previous fast-food experience here

Fortunately here, they just seem to take on whoever they can get.

But I did have an interview a few months ago for a job which was pushing a floor cleaning machine round a supermarket every other day. I didn't get it.

But I later got some better cleaning work with the local council which pays better, has better hours and is closer to home.

I know what you mean - I'm the only person I know that couldn't even score an INTERVIEW for places like Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's, Starbucks, & all sorts of other little cafes. I'd try to go for a delivery job, but my driving record got all screwed up from working in transportation last year.
