Fads you want to be back

What fashion, trend or fad from the past would you like to be back and what would you like to come into fashion? Personally, I'd love the popularity of Harry Potter to come back and I'd give a lot for the Sandman comics becoming MUCH more popular.

Them yoyos that were a squeezy ball with liquidy stuff in attatched to a rubbery string. They were all the rage (rage? range? whatever) when I was in junior school, and everyone had them. I had 3 but I only had them for a week until they got banned from shops because some stupid kids had the string round their neck (how do they manage that? What tards) so my mum destroyed them didn't she! I wish they came back.
And gel pens, that was another junior school fad, I only ever had a few gel pens so I didn't usually join in the with the pen swapping thing.

Quite a few of the crazes that were around at school I wish were popular again, because whenever there was one I was the last to join in or it was already too late.

I like Sandman too- it was very popular in the 80s and 90s and still has a lot of fans. Death has her own manga- it came out a few years ago, created by Jill Thompson I believe. It is not the same style at all though. I was Death for Halloween in 1991.

Personally, I think we should hold back on bringing back retro fashions. That just makes us look like a bunch of copy-cats. I'm frustrated enough with people today trying to bring back '80s fashion. I'd like to see some originality.

Having said that, I like a lot of the grunge fashions from the '90s; but I can't picture it being in fashion in any other decade besides the '90s. Grunge was to the '90s what poofy hair was to the '80s.

I would like medieval items to come back.

Sandman didn't get to be published in my country before 2002 and I heard of it for the first time in 2007. I don't know how it looked like in the USA back then. I know of the manga, I have it on my hard drive but I haven't read all of it. I read some spin-offs but I prefer the original Sandman to them, I prefer the adventures of the Dream King to the ones of the inhabitants of Dreaming. I think out of those living in Dreaming, Nuala is my favorite because her beauty isn't that trite (not without her fairy glamour); she looks perfectly ordinary. I do like beauty but in comics it's just way too common; I like it that Nuala looks like herself and not like, let's say, Death of the Endless, Alianora or Alvin/Wanda (when Barbie sees her for the last time with Death and "she" looks like a real woman) - in other words, not like all those glamorous beauties.

I want bib-and-brace overalls to become fashionable again. I love wearing them and I want a pair really badly but my mom says they're not appropriate for someone my age. She says she feels weird seeing grown women wearing overalls, even if they're pregnant.

My grandfather wears overalls with a certain panache. My grandfather also used to hop trains...

Steampunk, check out the clothing.

I suppose... I actually have a 'Steampunk' book series called Larklight.

Yoyo's and Yoho Diablos were all the rage when I was in year 7-8 at school. In primary school it was Russ trolls, friendship bracelets, hair wraps and those plastic binky necklaces. Personally I'd like the hair wraps to come back as I was awesome at making those.

Red hunting jackets, frilly yellow shirts and black trousers.

It would be good if we used swords instead of guns, as swords were more skillfull and dignified. Plus, I like watching swordfights in movies, even though I know nothing about them and how to do it. (I've often wondered whether fencing could be the one sport that I'm not hopeless at)

Also, tabletop role-playing games.
