Hearing is, without a doubt, my most sensitive sense.
I'm annoyed right now because my brother is eating off of a glass plate with a metal spoon. The clinking makes me want to rip my hair out...

What are noises that are, to you, incredibly annoying?

Similar to yours, I cannot stand people washing dishes.

Goodness. Don't even mention forks or any eating utensils scratching a plate. The mere thought of it makes me want to harm myself terribly.

I hate human breathing or sucking. Dogs doing slobbering are cute. Humans who do it are annoying.

There's a corpulent kid in my English class whose breathing makes me want to flip over a chair.
Basically any noise nobody notices is irritating.

Scratching against a certain fabric of coat makes me cry. I HATE IT.

Do you know what I mean by 'a certain fabric'? It's like a DJ scratching a record kinda' sound. I forget its name.

That's how it is when I'm not in school.
However, iPods are forbidden there. So I'm left to suffer.

Actually, I guess I'm the oddball here with regard to sound. I have to have some kind of noise e.g. a fan, music, a noise machine with rain, waterfall or white noise.. most of my successful jobs were in production where it was loud constant drone of machines and I was left alone to run mine (which I did very well, thank you!) Silence drives me up the wall, I suddenly can hear everything.. twigs snapping outside, people talking next door, footsteps down the hall... (people breathing noisily) even my own breathing and heartbeat cause stress...

I can't recall the name of the material, but I think I know what you mean. That sound is one of my most hated sounds. 8O

I also hate the sound of motorbikes, sirens (ambulances, police), chewing, people talking (when there's so many people talking all at once it just becomes a blend of nonsensical noise going up and down in pitch), and various other sounds.

But the scratching is an especially bad one.

People eating with their mouths open and making that smacking sound.
People who keep sniffing their snot back up inside their nose repeatedly instead of just blowing it once.
The beeping sound made by cash registers. The self-check-out at Fred Meyer makes me cringe every time it beeps.
The beeping of any vehicle or forklift or wheelchair backing up.
The rattle of someone trying to suck up the last microdrop of their drink with a straw.

sounds I like:
The sound of my keyboard when I'm typing.
The sound of pretty much any firearm chambering a round.
Rain.

It's almost uncanny how much it bothers me.

Some noises that annoy me doesn't faze other people, I can ignore sounds that makes other people go crazy. So I don't know if this is an aspie thing or not..

Some of the things that REALLY makes me agitated is vacuuming, especially if it's my father doing it since he bangs violently into everything, and dishes being put away, or dishes clanging together in general.

On the other hand I can easily read, watch tv and whatnot if my 6 yo daughter is having a temper/screaming fit in her room for some reason, while my father apparently can't stand it and gets angry and agitated.
None in my family are diagnosed yet, but my father displays quite a few AS traits to, in my opinion. So screaming children might be one of HIS triggers for all I know.

I also especially dislike the rhythmic 'fwoosh fwoosh fwoosh' sound, when in a car with an open window...

I've also been very sensitive to noises. Sometimes when things are really, really loud, I would get terrible headaches. I've always beens sensitive to loud noises ever since I was a baby.

I, too, am rather sound-sensitive, for both better and worse.

Some sounds which upset me include:
-Vacuum cleaners, blenders, and anything similar
-Beeping
-A ticking clock or any similar small, rhythmic sound (this one doesn't always drive me crazy, though)
-Creaking of upstairs neighbors (I am so glad I moved)
-Crinkling plastic bags and wrappers
-Anything really loud and chaotic

Similarly, there are sounds which make me very happy or feel very peaceful, such as:
-Rain
-Bamboo wind chimes
-Wind through trees
-That plopping sound when something drops into still water
-Light tinkly sounds from small metal objects (earrings, delicate wind chimes, etc)
-The fwoosh sound when you spread a sheet on a bead

I prefer to think of the ones I like. :)
