and over and over and over and over? and over?
Right now I'm hooked on "Don't need the Sun to shine" by Marcin Czubala
I've listened to it maybe 10 times straight and am planning on many more tonight... I tend to do this with all music... is that uncommon/odd?

Nah, I do it as well, until it loses it's effect eventually.

Not uncommon at all, I'll regularly fixate on a given song or album; I remember having Rammstein's 'Reise, Reise' lodged in my car stereo for nearly two years straight tbh

I do that as well, and I continue to do so until another song takes its place.

I do this all the time. The song I listen to over and over changes every couple of weeks. Unfortunately, it always leads to me getting so sick of the song that I can't enjoy it anymore. :(

Some songs I've listened to repeatedly this year:

"Ligger Med Varandra" - DJ Auzern
"Bad Romance" - Lady Gaga
"Break Your Heart" - Taio Cruz
"Pyromania" - Nightcore
"Marry Me" - Emilie Autumn (haven't gotten sick of it yet)

Yes, compulsively. It's like an addiction until I'm sick of it. If I'm lucky enough to find an entire album, it can last for months at the least.

I've done it at least since I was six years old.

i do this in the pursuit of digital audio restoration. in the process of cleaning up a corrupted recording, i may listen to the damned thing a hundred times, in whole or in part.

oh yeah, i did that for years. i didn't have a tv. i'd come home from work at midnight and put the stereo on and put an album on and let it play over and over and over, while I let my mind wander. (Headphones required, sensitive neighbors)

I always thought of it as sort of an aural stim.

Ive had my moments of this

within the past year or so the following songs were the case for me.

Arcturus - Ad Absurdum
Arcturus - Alone
Blind Guardian - Bard's Song (current obsession, especially considering ive been playing LotRO)
Blind Guardian - Lord of the Rings (same explanation as above)
Dream Theater - A Nightmare to Remember
Dream Theater - Octavarium
Dream Theater - Space-Dyed Vest
In Flames - Come Clarity (For some reason its a song I go straight to when in a depressive mood)
In This Moment - Ashes
In This Moment - Prayers
Nightwish - Nemo (Somehow I feel I can relate to the song, but I have no idea why)
Nightwish - Wishmaster
Tool - Parabola
Tool - Rosetta Stoned
Tool - Vicarious

Yup, both songs and albums. Lately it's been "Lies" by Fenech-Soler and the albums Habits by Neon Trees and The Man Who by Travis.

You're not alone. I do this too, a LOT. Recently I've done it a lot with Brother by Dark New Day and Feeling Good by Muse.

Yes I do this a lot and it rotates, over the summer I kept listening to...
- "Mudshovel" by Staind
- "Everlong" by Foo Fighters
- "Like a Stone," "Be Yourself," and "I Am The Highway" by Audioslave
- Breaking Benjamin's whole Dear Agony album

Now the songs that have replaced it are...
- "Pardon Me" by Incubus
- "Poem" by Taproot
- "Be Quiet and Drive" by Deftones

Yep.

At the moment, it's Weeping Birth's "Oxymoron".

Must've listened to it... 50 times today.
