I do. But I think depending on the listeners age and tags certain music gets, people will clash on the word meaning.

Yeah, there is a lot of fighting about who is a real punk. The original meaning was to do things just because you can and ignore what people believe about them.

I do enjoy some punk music. I'm reluctant to say that I'm a fan of an entire genre, though. I typically go for the song, as opposed to the genre it belongs to.

I listen to the Dead Kennedy's, Minor threat, Decendents, ect. ( Not so much now as when I was younger). I would not call myself "punk" though, as I have no peircings, tatoo's, mohawk, etc. I like the music but I never got the whole fashion side of things.

Yeah but if I say it then the punk police gets all up in my ass.

Neither does Milo or Bill. I don't think Greg Ginn or Ian Mackaye has any either.

I call myself punk but I dress up normally. I would like to wear punk clothes and have a mohawk but I am too shy to do this.

The process of doing that is actually a way a lot of shy people overcome their shyness.

I just never did it because it seemed like too much of a hassle to go out and hunt down the punk rawk clothes and maintain my hair. Hair maintenance, to me, is not punk...don't care if Darby did it, he was smacked up out of his mind when he was doing that stuff.

i am so old that i saw the ramones at cbgb. what fun those days were. gone. can never return. oh man, now i'm gonna cry.

had an old t-shirt a band member made for me, black with zippers all over it. recently i gave it to a gay guy who helps out at spay-neuter clinics and he wore it to a local gay bar. a member of the band that was playing there asked if he could have it so the guy i know took it off and swapped shirts with the singer. seems a rather fitting destination for an almost 40 year old shirt.

The Electric Eels are considered to be from before the beginning of what they call punk anyway... I happen to like it myself. The lyrics to that song include "washing machine" which to me anyway is proof of quality. Songs overwhelmingly repeat the same words - I like to see some variety there.
