Anybody walk too fast for their own comfort?

All the aspie tests mention unusual walking, which has me very focused on my own locomotion lately. I dont think I'm too bouncy, and I do swing my arms, but there is definitely something odd about my posture. The biggest issue I have with walking is speed. I constantly notice that I'm uncomfortable because Im going too fast. I try to slow down and as soon as I stop thinking about it, I'm back to full speed. I cant imagine how I developed this behavior. Im so tired of running out of breath when there's no reason for me to be so strenuous.

I walk fast, but it's relative - when I'm with others, they're slower than me, but they're usually smaller than me and they have shorter legs. When I'm alone, I feel normal.

I walk very slow, but that's only because I'm constantly trying to be at the back of any group of people. I don't like having people walking behind me and maybe I even think I won't be noticed if I'm at the back.

If i didn't have stubby legs, I'd be walking fast, but instead tend to be rather slow.

I walk quite fast for no particular reason.

People around me just walk too damn slow.

Interesting fact: short people burn more energy than tall people because they take two more steps than a tall person would for one. So every time I walk I get a bit of a workout.

I walk fast in the city but I walk at "normal" pace when I'm zoning out.

I walk incredibly fast, I am an absolute cheetah on the way to places :D I hate it that everyone is so slow! I think "Jesus, speed up will ya?!" When there is people ahead of me, I try and walk as slow as possible because I think I look like a stalker, but I still overtake everybody easily 8)

I walk fast, and I find it uncomfortable to slow down when walking with a slow walker.

Topics like this are the reason I love it here! :)
I also walk very fast, even when I have nowhere to be. It wears my dogs out! And like others I hate having people walk behind me. Before I knew about Asperger's I didn't know why it drove me so crazy when my wife walked behind me in the grocery store, just that it did. I knew it was unreasonable but I couldn't help it. It still makes me crazy but at least now I know why.

I walk fast and I find it hard to match pace with someone I'm walking with.

I am a naturally fast walker, at least when you take into consideration that I am a bit on the short side. I try to make a point to slow down and enjoy my walking, though.

People, usually my wife, complain I walk too fast. If I try to walk her speed, I find it maddeningly slow. Sometimes, I walk backward just to approach her speed.

Interesting. I know you burn the same calories whether you walk or run, so I found it hard to believe that shorter people would use more energy. I know that muscle comes into the equation. So if you run more you develop more muscle which in turn requires more calories to keep than fat.
