Idea for answer to Autism Speaks

I'm new around here, and to my own "diagnosis", so this is just a thought of how those of us who are offended by the idea that "autism" is a disease in need of a cure rather than a difference in neurology with positive and negative consequences (just like NT) could start a grassroots campaign to respond:
A button saying "Autism Answers :
Ask Me"

Of course, this would involve self-identifying and might bring grief to the individual, but if we don't speak up for ourselves, it's pretty clear nobody else will-except for maybe our NT relatives who love us just how we are.

Or is this idea too socially nieve? (my usual state)

Not sure about wearing it IRL, but a website might work. Then again, WP already is such a site.

I don't really like buttons, but a website would probably be pretty cool. Make it like a chat room or something to where people could come on and ask questions for us to answer. It's an interesting idea.

Just joined and why I highlighted the above text, when I used the search bar and put in PICA there was dialogue and sharing of thoughts of how to address this. Cool and very helpful and something to think about in the different threads on PICA. I also joined autism speaks tonight but they didn't verify me as quick as WP did. Looking forward to reading more of everyone's thoughts and thanks in advance. Great site!

My thought about a button vrs a web site is that then actual autistic people could self identifiy when they wanted and we like passing on information and this would be direct information about our condition, experience spoken to the interested, asking party. And the NTs like this kind of face to face encounter and getting to know you experience and even though it makes some of us cringe maybe we could put up with it to educate them and help them overcome their disabling stereotypes.
