Game Boy Advance
Does anybody else like the Game Boy Advance? I am currently somewhat obsessed with video games in general and the Game Boy Advance in particular.
I've bought a Game Boy Micro, two Game Boy Advance SPs and a Nintendo DS and a lot of Game Boy Advance games. So far I have Advance Wars, Golden Sun 1 & 2, Metroid Fusion, Shining Soul 2, Rebelstar: Tactical Command and Pokémon Emerald although I've also ordered Lady Sia, Duel Masters: Sempai Legends!, Pokémon LeafGreen, CT Special Forces 1 & 3, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Sonic Advance.
Does anybody else like the Game Boy Advance? Which games do you have and which are your favourites?

I have the Gamecube "Gameboy Player" along with the Gamecube component video cables. GBA games look amazing on my Sony CRT-HDTV.
I've gotten tons of use out of it, and I recently played through Metroid Fusion again on it a couple weeks ago. That game makes Super Metroid's graphics look very dated by the way.
I have to check and see what I have...
Metroid Fusion, Super Mario Bros. 2, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, Breath of Fire 2, AD&D: Eye of the Beholder, Metroid Zero Mission, Super Mario World, Pokemon Sapphire, Mario Pinball Land, Bomberman Tournament, and Sword of Mana. And Mario Kart: Super Circuit is around here somewhere...
But now I've got a flash cart so I can bring as many games as I need with me...plus there's fan translations, ROM hacks, and emulators
Some of my favorite games (besides the ones I already mentioned):
TOP FIVE:
Advance Guardian Heroes (Treasure)
Astro Boy: Omega Factor (Treasure/Hitmaker, the European version is improved)
Ninja Cop/Ninja Five-O (seriously awesome)
Rebelstar (Rebelstar reboot by the original X-COM team)
Klonoa: Empire of Dreams (haven't played the second game yet)
I mean...top...eight?
Gradius Generation (Japanese version is improved)
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
Mother 3 (fan translation)
The rest:
Mario vs. Donkey Kong (sequel to Game Boy Donkey Kong)
Mr. Driller 2 (Mr. Driller A seems pretty cool too, but it's impossible to figure out without any English)
Game and Watch Gallery 4
Activision Anthology (tons of Atari 2600 games, includes protos and fan-made homebrews)
Bubble Bobble Old & New
Elevator Action Old & New (Japanese, but little to no dialogue to worry about)
Namco Museum(s)/Pac-Man Collection
Double Dragon Advance (the Japanese version is improved, but no English dialogues)
TMNT (the Konami ones are okay, but the Ubisoft movie tie-in one is the same team that did the Scott Pilgrim game)
CT Special Forces (series)
Densetsu no Stafy (series, no English)
Goemon: New Age Shutsudou! (no English)
Gunstar Super Heroes (Treasure)
Lady Sia
Megaman Zero series
Metal Slug Advance
Sonic Advance
Wario Land 4
Iridion series
Wings
Mario Golf: Advance Tour
Edit: Re-read your post and saw that you already have/ordered some of these.
Eh, I think they're almost on par with each other, except Fusion suffers from "let's make this game extra bright and the colors oversaturated so it's easier to see on a non-lit GBA".

I got two SPs (I want to try playing GB and GBC games) in the post today that I won on an eBay auction but I wasn't happy with them as the auction said they were both in excellent condition with no scratches but one of them had a lot of scratches and general wear and they both had what looks like specks of dust inside the screen (although how dust gets inside I have no idea).
Anyway I just bid and won on another SP, only this time it's one of the true backlit ones that they made in apparently a relatively low number. It was relatively expensive but I hope it's worth it. It also comes with Astro Boy, Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts and Bubble Bobble: Old and New.
I got the Castlevania double-pack in the post today as well as Sonic Advance and Pokémon Emerald which I ordered by mistake since I already have one.
I'd really like a copy of Ninja Cop/Ninja Five-O but apparently it's quite rare and so is quite expensive to buy now.

My brother went through a phase of collecting old consoles (he even has a Virtual Boy) and I think he still has a GameCube so if he does I might try to buy it off him and pick up a Game Boy Player off eBay or something.
You have a very good collection.
Did you stop buying games when you bought the flash cart? I have an EZFLASH IV but I can't use it at the moment as the miniSD card I bought to go with it seems to be faulty and I'm waiting for a replacement. I had a bit of a meltdown after I first got it because once you've inserted the SD card into it you can't take it out without unscrewing the case and I couldn't put it back together. I sanded down one of the sides so now it fits together but there is nothing holding one of the sides shut which bothers me. I thought about modifying a normal GBA cartridge by cutting out a section for the card slot but I'm not sure how difficult that would be.

It runs all Gameboy games in 480p when using the Gamecube component video cables. You certainly want them if playing on an HDTV. I own a Virtual Boy along with 5 games by the way.

I have component cables for my PS2 and Xbox and they make a huge difference as well, the only problem is my TV only has one set of component inputs and so I can only have one connected at a time. I bought a switching box once but it degraded the picture quality

I have a DS (traded my SP in so I could save $30) but I still have quite a few GBA games. This probably isn't the full collection as I'm sure some of my games are in my little brother's possession currently.
In the order I pulled them out of my case:
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (amazing port)
NBA Jam 2002 (great game, rare too, just wish it had an internal memory. Passwords are stupid.)
Mario Golf: Advance Tour (beaten)
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 (bought from a friend, great port)
GT Advance Collection (best deal I've ever received on a GBA game: 4 great games for $5! GT Advance 2 is my favorite)
Monster Jam: Maximum Destruction (beaten numerous times)
Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles (haven't played nearly as much as I would like)
NFL Blitz 2003 (same password woes, Madden 2003 is better)
Battlebots: Design and Destroy (really fun engineering game, beaten once)
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 (probably going to trade after I get a DS version)
DK: King of Swing (fun game, but my L button is out on my DS so it's a pain right now)
NHL 2002 (hockey was not meant for the GBA, but I can't find a DS substitute)
Tony Hawks American Sk8land (hit a roadblock on this one)
Aggressive Inline (can't beat second level, but I do a lot of free play on this one)
Madden 2003 (good game, but the games take too long. Want to trade for Madden 09 for DS)
I'm thinking of biting the bullet and buying a DSi or a 3DS and another SP so I can play GBC & GB games while getting a new L button. However, I have more important wants, namely a PS3 and a 1 TB external hard drive for my DVD collection.
Nah, I stopped buying games long before I got the flash cart (I was too busy buying DS games). Though every once in a while I'll see a great game for dirt cheap and turn it down because of the flash cart (and because I don't have a job)...but there are a few I'd like to get eventually that aren't really supported on flash carts, like the Yoshi and Wario Ware tilt games, or Drill Dozer, stuff like that. Or there are a few games with internal clocks, but I think that's just Pokemon, and I already have that one. Boktai maybe, but Idunno if I'd really be into that game.
That's weird, I have the EZFlash IV and I don't have that problem. Mine looks like this: http://gbatemp.net/opium/ezflash4/4.jpg
But I ended up upgrading to a 2-gig SD card, stuffing it full, and now I rarely have to take it out again.
I tried unscrewing mine once because there's some clumps of plastic floating around in it, but I couldn't get it open. It's probably a good thing, if it's hard to put back together.
And speaking of dust, yeah, sometimes it does get inside the screen. I've never owned an SP, but it's happened on my DS (fat) a couple of times. It happens on my Micro quite often, but that's a lot easier to fix.

That's the one I have. Once you push the SD card all the way in you cannot get it out without unscrewing the case and I couldn't get it to shut again properly without sanding away this small bit that sticks out and is meant to slot into the other half of the cart (but wouldn't). I e-mailed the people that make it and the people I bought it from about getting a replacement case but none of them have replied to me.

Because of my bad experiences with it it has pretty much created a bad disorganised feeling in my mind which I get when things go wrong in such a way (that probably doesn't make sense or seems very irrational, which it is) and I think I just want to get rid of it. I don't think I'd be able to sell it anywhere because of the grey-area nature of such devices so I don't really know what to do with it besides throw it away.
Yeah, I don't know...mine comes right out, though it's a bit trickier to get out when I don't have fingernails.
Just stuff it full of every game you'd ever need, and forget about it? I only take mine out when I need to revise my emulators, or on the very rare occasion that a new ROM hack/translation comes out.
Also, it doesn't help that my SD card reader doesn't even work half of the time

Yeah, that would be the sensible thing to do but there are aspects of my personality that are far from sensible.
