It's gonna be freakin' awesome!!

Elder Scrolls V(5): Skyrim

11 / 11 / 11

I just pray to God they don't move the release date to 2012 because of Call of Duty, or the world will end before it is released! 8O

If Oblivion was any indication, I'm going to love just wandering around, checking out the scenery even more in this one- never mind actually playing the game. :)

Can't wait for this game... wish I had good enough comp specs to run it on pc. I can imagine the mods will be awesome in this new Elder Scrolls game!. Ah.. Oh well I still have Xbox 360. Gosh why do they have to tease us with video trailers, with no game play footage:(.. Not even a quick flash of in game footage Y_Y.. *Starts taking extremely high doses of Skooma to cope

I am super excited for this game. I will lock myself away in a dark corner and play this game for hours on end.

oblivion is the go, much more player (and eyeball) friendly. cant wait to see how much the graphics etc improve for the new game! 8O

My only issue always with Elder Scrolls, was that the worlds looked beautiful. But the people in it looked like wax figurines.

Even Oblivions people had the emotional expression of a wax doll. The skin was to smooth, there were no blemishes. They don't even have any pores really.

Not only that, but I was never able to fix the body mechanics. So I'm running around with an all out mage character with a six pack.

Knights should have six packs

Magicians should be thin

Rogues should have lean thin muscles

I think they should change the body do to the classes you're choosing. Or maybe body loads out should change depending on the race, kind of like in Dragon Age Origins.

Humans were more filled, and more muscular in DAO.

Elves were thin and more wire framed in DAO.

Dwarves were stocky with compact muscles in DAO.

They could do the same thing in the next Elder Scrolls. Or something.

Also can we in the first time of Elder Scrolls series not start off as a prisoner?

But my god did I love that moment....when in Oblivion you've been in that prison and you come out of the tunnels. My eyes were beautified by the beautiful world.

Sounds exciting, if not for the following questions being asked by me: will it NOT use STEAM, Impulse, SecuROM, or similar?

...Or will this just be another game that you actually *rent*, at full price, like pretty much all PC games are released, nowadays, that maybe also forces you to install malware? Will it just be another PC game you just can't buy, regardless how much you'd like to get it? Or are they, unlikely enough, wise enough to act like the Polish gaming company CD Projekt, who seems to respect that people want to get the game on the actual disc, when they buy it, instead of having to download the rest online, install malware and stay online while playing it, or your save files get deleted as punishment (Ubisoft "copyright" methods; partially proudly shared practice by EA (and others, I guess))? Any sort of announcement on if they will just want to screw paying customers over?

It will probably be awesome and won't have ridiculous DRM. Bethesda is nice enough to have released the first 2 Elder Scrolls as freeware after there was no money to be made off them. A company that is willing to GIVE away it's old games is not one you expect to mess with it's consumers.

As far as I know, id Software has done the same, releasing old games for free, yet the latest Wolfenstein had this crap "protection" that actually just significantly increases piracy, instead, so I wouldn't put much faith in such a thing... I guess a better hint on if it'll be without it or not is if Fallout 3 is without it, including its expansions?

Pretty sure FO3 and FONV are both drm free. I guess the thing about ID could be true, I never even bothered with most of IDs games anyways so I wouldn't know....I did play DOOM 1 & 2 as a kid but that was about it Quake never appealed to me (Tribes > Quake).

Thank god they're gonna use a new engine instead of f*****g Gamebryo, which Bethesda has been using since Oblivion. I can't wait to see what the visuals look like. Not that I'm one of those people who only think graphics are what make a game good.
