l mean a person that knows everything about you, your special interests, understanding AS, your sense of humor, your achievements, etc...

EX: Most of my friends do understand me, I dont have anyone that truly understands me 100%. like i have soo many people in my life that cares about me, but i just wish my friends and family understand me more. (true statement)

there are NO wrong answers. it can be your co-worker, your best friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, your parents, cousins, anybody that you know.

Yeah, I do have a best friend, who knew me before I knew I had AS. Im very open and honest with him and he gets me, more so than anyone else. There are other people that I'm open with as well, but with everyone, I can be hot and cold. Like, I have no problem sharing intimate details, but I seem to expect them to "get it" and if I feel like they don't say the things I deem "appropriate", I get upset, thus, the hot and cold. I dont know if this is an aspie trait or if its something else like narcissism. I believe Im extremely narcissistic, but Im not sure.

My mom. She knows everything there is to know about me, and she loves and accepts me just the way I am. Sometimes I think she understands me better than I understand myself. We are each other's best friends and biggest advocates.

My brother and this one guy used to really get me, but things are a lot different with me now that I don't really expect anyone to ever get me the way they used to.

I get along with people better when they don't try to understand me anyway.

I have one friend who "gets" me. She understands me better than anyone else I know, including family. In fact, outside of my immediate family, our friendship is the longest relationship I've ever had (9+ years).

I have one friend who understands me 99%. Most other people barely understand me at all.

My family and some of my friends do understand me a bit but, like you had said, I don't have anybody who really understands me 100%.

No. I gave up this and I think it is ok to live without.

As long as I dont try to be understood, my friends are the best in the world.
Its strange (and unfair) that I understand other people, but this imbalance is not adjustable.

Thankfully I can trust myself.

Ditto. But does anyone really have some one who understands them completely?

The closest one for me would be my mother (and my late grandfather), but there are things she doesn't know about me and things she doesn't understand about me.

Those who said yes are very lucky.

I can't say I do. Different people understand parts of me. Dad has the same aspergers problems as me, but not the same female ones. Mum understands some problems I have but not most of them. I don't think it's possible to have anyone who fully understands you.

Thats why you have to love yourself and be your own best friend.

No, nobody understands me.

They may learn things about me, from experience, but they will never understand it.

Have a couple of people who come very close (my immediate family, and a teacher who's known me for years,) but I can't say I have someone who completely understands me.
