I like to take vicodin just because I like the way I feel relaxed on it and how I'm able to sleep on it. Basically, anything with codeine in it, I'll take it.
I was prescribed some today at the ER after falling on my knee last night. Today, I can't lift it without grunting in agony. They x-rayed it, nothing broken. Just soft-tissue strain (sprain?). Anyway, I was excited to get the prescription for vicodin.
Don't know if any of this suits the classic definition of addiction...
edit:
I don't take them very often. In fact,a bottle can remain with pills in them for some time without taking any. Just sometimes when I feel stressed or want to relax or sleep well, I'll take a couple.
It sounds like you are on a slippery slope and will become addicted if you are not careful.
