Well I just thought I would ask, because Metal is one of my favorite forms of music in existance. So who here likes metal and what are some of your favorite bands?

I like a wide variety of metal.....oldschool stuff and some newer bands. The only kind of metal I am not much into is Death Metal I only like a few bands of that style.

I know what you mean.. Quite a few of my friends are into death metal or even worse, prog metal... There are some good musicians in both genres (often virtuosic) but I can't take it seriously cause of all the growling or screaming and I'm almost certain there is actually only one death metal band in the world, they just have many different pseudonyms because I don't hear much difference between songs or bands

I agree actually, I only really like Dreamtheatre for the other musicians. I have a live DVD of them and the singer is pretty ridiculous, he even wears leather pants

You are forgetting the recently deceased Ronnie Ames Dio. Late of Black Sabbath (2nd lineup), Rainbow, Dio, and that strangely non Metal 70s band Elf.
Must not forget Dio.
