My dad has it, my aunt has it, maybe her son who is on the spectrum, and my grandpa had it.

Was wondering if anyone else on the spectrum has ringing in the ears?

Not always, but it happens from time to time. Feels like a bomb just went off and your trying to recover from it- like in the war movies and the soldier crawls up with ringing ears.

I've had the sound of, well, like lots of crickets as long as I can remember, since at least age 10, when I realized not everyone else heard the noise. It's always just louder than anything I'm hearing, and the added noise makes my hearing sensitive. Mine never goes away, but it does change; sometimes I get pitched sounds, too.

Same thing with my eyes, in a way, I have a sort of static overlaid on everything (like old television snow). The same thing happens to my sense of touch, and I think perhaps the other two, although I'm not sure how I'd know with taste and smell.

I'm not sure whether it's sensory processing issues, or something's physically wrong with the sensory tissue because of my connective tissues disorder. As far as I know, I'm the only one in my family with this (although my brother has always had a problem with the way velvet feels).

interesting....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinnitus

says it could also be described as crickets like you described

mine is not consistent like yours and I don't have snow flakes in vision- just 1 floaty in each eye that wont go away =/. Has the snow flake thing been there forever? Or slow progression?

other thing is if I am running water my right ear feels/sounds like it is being put through a tornado, very irritating so I try and get the water off asap.

also I can hear my heart beat inside my ears, though it can fade/grow louder and is usually louder in my right ear.

plus my ear always feels clogged, even when it is not like now because I had it checked for ear infection but there isn't anything there just wax which they removed.

wondering if I should have this looked into....

Sounds exactly like this

I'll get ringing in my ears from very loud sounds but that's it.

Yes I do. My mom has it too now. She also used to get it from loud sounds or from being around too much noise, now she has it all the time.

I do as well but mine is probably to do with listening to music way to loud when I was young.

I get ringing in the ears at least once every two days. It can also get quite loud, where I live sometimes.

Constant for me. It began in my twenties, and I almost always play something in the background to cover it up.

I've had tinnitus for a long time - I definitely remember it from childhood. I have white noise in my room so it's usually drowned out by said white noise.

It is not constant all the time, but it is really annoying when it happens. I think it may be less intense than it used to be.

Raises hand.
A faint, but constant high-pitched whistle in my left ear. I'd always assumed it was tinnitus, but fortunately it's not loud enough to be a real nuisance - just a distraction at times.

As far back as my memory goes. I finally first realized it when I first encountered descriptions of total darkness, and I realized I never saw total darkness; as ambient light fades, the visual static stays the same, and below a certain light level, the static's all I see.

Weird senses I have.
