Well, I don't know if this is the case for others, but I just have to spell everything right, with capitals, punctuation marks and all. One of those obsessions with perfection. :D

It's supposed to save time but it wastes time by being difficult to read, also it's supposed to save you money if you're texting on a phone, and it just evolved from there. It takes me a lot longer to write like that, I have to think much more about what letters go where etc.

People have been using incorrect grammar for as long as the internet has been in existence. It's nothing new.

That being said, I always try to use proper grammar, even in casual situations.

I definitely qualify as an elite member of the Grammar Police. I hate when people text-speak like Asp-Z's post. Wouldn't it just be faster to type properly like you did in school rather than stick numbers in as letters?

It drives me crazy. The thing that really bugs me is when people I know have good grammar and spelling deliberately start typing lik ths teh wen their arond a kebored. I don't get it. Why would someone choose to look like they dozed off in their elementary school spelling lessons?

I'm not the grammar/spelling police that's for sure. In fact, I myself, have HORRIBLE spelling and grammar without spell check. When I was in Grade 8, I spelled like someone in the middle of Grade 6!

However, I don't like it when people type this:

y do u have to b so mean to every1 all the time

I don't see the point either. My spelling and grammar are not fantastic but I don't see any point in deliberately spelling things wrong and making it hard to be understood

17'5 c4113d 3ncryp710n.

And I'm normally not an emoticon person, but :eew: is what happens when I read text speak. I'm OK with an unintentional grammar mistake, but text speak makes me want to puke on the person "writing" in text speak.

By the way nice avatar, ClumsyBee.

Yeah, it really bothers me too. Most of the places I go to on the internet all or most of the people spell well though. And then I go somewhere else and I see people typing like that and I'm like "Ugh. How annoying."

I feel embarrassed if I make a spelling mistake online. I feel like I have to type the same way online as I would to type a school paper.
