Do all people with AS behave like this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkVYDo8vVLc

I am an aspie myself and i have met other people with AS who behave more like NTs than these people.

They seem like typical Asperger's to me.

They also have a camera on them, and are probably nervous.

Maybe those people have recently been diagnosed, and are attending the support group to learn better social skills?

That's my theory, but autism affects each individual differently.

Set up a camera in your residence when someone is over.

You set up a camera so you can see how you behave around people.

NOBODY ever comes into my house. I get extremely agitated, even maintenance from my apartment community.

They didn't seem that weird to me :?:
Or well, the way the new guy talked was a bit odd.
If I had been there, I probably wouldn't have said a thing and would've constantly played with my hair.

I am serioiusly freaking out here though 8O................. To think though I might appear that ecentric to others really makes me have to evaulate my life.

Like someone said once "One of the most destructive things about the human spiecies is not knowing how we appear to others so we do not know what is really going on ".

CBT is the only thing i can do from here .

Oh yeah on a sidenote my brother did say to me once "Your a weird person and whenver you speak it sounds like your being examined"

But are they really that eccentric, Jamesy? They don't seem completely different to me, just a little bit. Of course, I can't hear them very well because, even though I have the volume turned up all the way on my laptop and on Youtube, I can barely hear it :(
It's like I am squinting with my ears to hear.
So, maybe they are more eccentric than I realize and I can't hear it.

Its not just the way they speak its the way they move thier bodies kinda like distonia to a really small degree.

Compared to most people i meet and too the guy giving the talk in the suppourt group i think they do appear to weird to a notable degree.

No. To assume such would be to assume that all gay men are effeminate. Most gay men are not effeminate, but effeminate gay men, in the minds of many, represent most gay men because they are the most visible.

There are many people with AS who really don't appear all that awkward unless they are put "on the spot" or "backed into a corner" so to speak.

You can see "red shirt guy" on youtube at the convention and his explanation of his behavior there to see an example of this.

It's quite possible that some of the men here really are so awkward, while others may possibly intentionally or subconsciously act more awkward because they are either more aware of their issues or feel a need to act so such that their issues are taken seriously.

Some of the men here may have HFA instead of AS. In my experience, those with HFA do tend to be more awkward for some reason. I usually get the impression that there seems to be a reduced sense of relative self awareness as compared to those with AS.

They seem pretty autistic to me. I've definitely acted a bit odd in situations like that, but i've improved. But yeah, its a spectrum isn't it, everyone's different.

They seem normal to me....which makes me wonder if I seem odd to others when I'm out. Sometimes I've realized certain things I'll do from seeing someone else do it and I'll realize how out of step it is. Other times people laugh at me when I wasn't trying to be funny.

I like them, they seem friendly. :)
