Hey,
My name is Alice and I am a 21 year old college student.
So, about a week ago I was reading a book, and the main character had Aspergers. Well, a lot of the aspie traits that she had were things that I have done in the past, or still do now. So I took a few tests online, including the aspie quiz one, which said that my aspie score was 111/200, and my NT score was 74/200, and all said that I was likely an aspie.
I really don't know, but what to find out. My whole family has some aspie traits, to tell you the truth. And because I was homeschooled I don't have much to match it up against. I don't know what it is like to think like someone else. My friends at college all think differently than I, but, I was homeschooled unconventionally, so that could be part of it. Plus, to be honest, I am a lot smarter than most of them. We are all different, but, as my dad has said many times "Normal means average. Average is boring! Do you really want to be average? The average marriage ends in divorce, the average college student makes C's, the average person only makes XXX amount. Be unique, not average" So I'm cool with being myself. I would just like to learn how to relate to others better, and better understand myself. Knowledge is power, they say.
I've only spoke of my suspicions to one of my friends, and I want to get some more information about it. It is really hard to explain to other people, because I feel normal to myself. It was only when I was reading that book that I began to realize that not everyone did the things like I did, because I finally found someone who did. Before I just thought that the differences were because it was a book, and people don't describe mental processes well in books.
So I think I am just going to browse here for a while and see if the traits that I have are normal for an aspie or not, and things like that.
