For those who are LGBT, exactly how "out" are you to other people?

I guess I'm pretty much out to everybody, because I have it suggested in my Facebook profile (Interested In: Men), which is public. Frankly, I no longer care who knows, as long as they don't try to harass me about it.

That being said, I still am not out to my parents, because I don't really feel that it's any of their business.

I've already "outed" myself as bisexual, and am waiting until my sister "outs" herself
to fully "come out" to many people.

The two people in my family who will not know are my mother and my uncle, because like what you said Descartes, it's nobody's business who people should/should not love.

Totally out. I'd rather be hated for what I am than loved for something I'm not.

I've always assumed that people just knew, and since my life has been pretty much lacking in intimate relationships, it didn't matter anyway. I specifically told my parents to get them used to the no-grandchildren thing and from time to time I've had to tell apparently desperate women who aren't good at reading the signs.

nothing like a good nut 8)

yeah it's good to relate :)

my fb is getting scary at the moment, people posting things like "take your pants off" on my wall.
while some of my photos are topless, this fb world is getting difficult.
business with school friends with sports with gay friends. with aspie friends.

people talk a certain way at work compared to the way they would talk at a party.

maybe the party needs to come to work?

"maybe the party needs to come to work?"

yes, but it doesn't work if your the only one dancing.

Answer: so we all put up a facade. How big is your facade?

"I am "out" to most/some people, or only "out" to people I trust with the information"

I think that should have been separated into two different options:

-I am "out" to most/some people

OR

- I am only "out" to people I trust with the information

I'm out to most people, the ones I've got around to telling. So, many people at my school know, my friends know, my mother knows... but, I don't talk to my father much and haven't told him.

I don't make habbit of telling people; they're far too good at treating such knowledge as the latest gossip topic. That said I'm lucky enough never to have had any particually bad responses and I'm not about to deny it.

I'm well and truly out of the closet--I needed the storage space.

I came out at about age 20. I wrote a regular column in my campus paper under my own byline. There was no heading back to Narnia after that.
