I think I'm going off the deep end...

I obsess about Asperger's, but is it because I have an Asperger's obsession about Asperger's, or do I have a form of health anxiety (hypochondria) that centers around mental illness instead?

But I don't normally have health anxiety. I'm diagnosed Anxiety NOS, but is that correct? I try to figure out what form of anxiety I have, but it would be a mixture of GAD, PTSD and maybe OCD, but not very severe. GAD for being scared of several things, PTSD for mostly being scared of cars after a car wreck, OCD for obsessive thoughts, though they have no rituals (pure O).

I don't like the fact I'm diagnosed schizoaffective. I mean, I had wild delusions in the past, but they were grandiosity and no voices. I think I have some sort of bipolar with psychotic features.

ack

I used to obsess about my diagnosis the first few years after I learned abuot it, but eventually i lost this obsession in favor of other ones. Back during the time I was obsessed about my Asperger diagnosis I also seen in myself a lot of other labels, but that is because I was reading into things too much. Are you sure that is not what you are doing?

In my case, my prime obsession was definitely due to Asperger. But then being obsessed made me see secondary stuff that could have been due to other things, who knows. But still these "other things" were tiny on grand scheme of things and the only reason I cared was my obsession.

Obviously your situation might be different since you are a different person. I am just drawing my example to your attention to consider for some possible similarities, which might and might not be there.

Well, I do obsess about stuff like birds and video games (I hope to get another bird job soon) but nowadays I'm getting pretty good at being social unlike when I was a kid.

It's like with AS, I seem to be some sort of borderline case, some traits are there and some are lacking. Plus I have this other stuff going on that's more serious though.

I will talk to my therapist more about it next week I think.
