Are you an extremely introverted aspie or do you prefer to go out and socialise (as best you can :) )?

Are you the one that wishes he/she never had AS? Or are you proud of it?

Are you the aspie with loads of obesessions? Or does nothing seem to capture your attention?

Are you the one that finds it awkward to exspress themselves? Or can you feel best when everyone knows what your feeling?

So by the by please say What Type Of Aspie Are You!? :P

Try (and fail to socialise), more's the pity.

Don't wish it away, although I wish it had been diagnosed earlier.

Obsessions? Yes, a few but mainly mathematics.

Awkwardness in face-to-face communications.

I'm an Extrovert [MBTI] and like people. I'm just not very good at social interaction.

I think life would be easier as NT, but I also think being a few inches taller and having a finer bone structure would be awesome, too. I can't exactly change these things.

I have a few select obsessive interests and then I go through depression lulls when I can't be arsed with anything.

I never feel better when I explain, even successfully explain, my feelings to other people. I would rather not be in that position. I'm never satisfied with the words I've used or how I've communicated my intentions. People tell me I'm articulate but I suppose I have higher expectations for myself than other people do.

I think I'll just pop this in General Discussion.

Mostly introvert, but I try to be (and am) a bit social.

Neither proud nor averse. It is my lot, I'm dealing with it.

I'd say I have a few deep interests.

A bit. I can express myself verbally quite well. Often I don't really need others to know my feelings.

I socialize well I think. I used to be extremely introverted, but went through a personality change about two years ago. Learning how to talk to people has been... odd, but I'm glad that I have tried. And I have been rewarded for it, so that's good.

I am still trying to decide if I like it or not. It helps me explain some things. It's just who I am. If I was NT, I'm sure there would be other struggles I would have to deal with regarding that.

Nothing captures my attention for long.

I dislike expressing myself. I didn't even express myself to my family until a couple of years ago. However, I've gotten better at it and I believe that it is a useful tool. I still dread doing it though, and will keep things private until I have thought through something well enough to tell others effectively.

Extremely introverted.

Neither. I can't be proud of something that's not an achievement. But I think I'd be a very different person without it.

Loads of obsessions.

I have difficulty expressing myself, both because speaking is just plain difficult and because I never know when it is appropriate to do so.

I prefer to stay home most days, and right now I really don't care if I have AS or not.

I definitely have obsessions. They tend to annoy the crap out of my husband because I can't think about much else until the obsession runs it's course.

I have a lot of trouble expressing myself, but I have diarrhea of the mouth when it comes to my opinions of things.

Introvert. Don't always want to socialise. I may sometimes wish I could be better at it.
Sometimes my autism can be so impairing I wish I didn't have to deal with it but most times I make it work for me.
I fail to express myself verbally but I do much better through writing blogs and articles and prefer that people knew exactly what was going on inside my head.

I'm not an aspie.

I'm pretty introverted, but I have a small number of friends I interact with sometimes. And I sometimes go to local DD social events although I don't (or barely) directly socialize during them. Like I might go to a dance but dance alone (as much as I can dance anymore with my beyond-crappy endurance).

I definitely don't wish that I was never autistic. I wouldn't call myself proud of it either, except in the sense of "not ashamed despite a society telling me I ought to be ashamed". But the whole idea of "pride" is so widely misunderstood that I generally avoid the term altogether. I definitely don't want to be nonautistic, and neither do I want to be changed to another so-called "better" kind of autistic either, which is often the really irritating "solution" proposed by autistic people who do think their kind of autism is better and that other autistic people will jump at the chance to be just like them.

I'm neither someone with loads of obsessions, nor someone where nothing seems to capture my attention. I do have special interests. But what dominates my time is more sensory interests than the conceptual ones. (The conceptual ones are good, just tiring.)

And I have no idea what this means: "Are you the one that finds it awkward to exspress themselves? Or can you feel best when everyone knows what your feeling?"

I am in my mid seventies and I consider myself a well adapted Aspie. That is to say, I can live with my NT neighbors and relatives with reasonable ease and I can adapt my external behavior so as to "pass" among my NT friends, neighbors and relatives. I am married to an NT and only one of my four children shows an kind of Aspie indication. Only one grandchild has any indication of being on the Spectrum. He was diagnosed with Non Verbal Learning Disability when young and has pretty well out grown it now.

Since I "pass for human" fairly easily now, I find being an Aspie no great difficulty. In my heart and mind I am still the rules oriented literal minded person I always have been.

I seem to be pretty extremely introverted. When I do go out, I don't really enjoy it if more than two other people are involved, and often two is one too many.

I don't really wish one way or the other. I am not strictly proud of being autistic, but I am not ashamed, either. I am not interested in a cure as I'm rather comfortable with who I am and I happen to like the way I think and perceive. I don't feel that I would really be the same person if I were no longer autistic. And wishing to never have been autistic is like wishing to be someone else, and why would I wish for an "ideal" world that doesn't include me?

I have many interests. I've had a few stable interests that have lasted for decades, and several others that have come and gone over the years.

I find it difficult to express myself verbally unless I have taken the time to work out how to express myself in advance. My writing here and other places has made it much easier for me to explain things to my therapist (for example) that I would otherwise possibly struggle with. Where I have difficulty is that for some reason people talk over me and change the subject while I'm still trying to explain a particular thing, and don't seem to realize that I wasn't finished or that I had anything to say at all. I also find it easy to get distracted by a new conversational thread and lose track of where I wanted to be. It'll come back quickly because I'm just single-minded enough for that, but it's a bit rough going back and forth plus dealing with my virtually automatic on-topic responses that have no relation to whatever it is I need to talk about.

I try to avoid socializing if there's no purpose to it but other people tend to be very good at sucking all the purpose out of any conversation I try to initiate.

I am quite introverted, but I can socialize to some degree as long there is some degree of "comfort zone" (friends/aquantance)

Meh. It's life. I have to deal with the cards I've been given

I have very extensive knowledge in a few areas, but sometimes additional things come along that get pulled into the vortex

HUGE PROBLEM. It makes sense in my head as a thought, but to try to put it into words is insurmountable. Trying to communicate technical information about a job/subject usually results in the other person either being totally confused; thinking I'm a moron; or just a blank, non-comprehending stare. I find myself "tripping over my words" when I feel I'm in a pressured situation (even though there is no pressure.)

I prefer to be alone most of the time, but not all the time. I'm very introverted, I want to socialise with someone, but unfortunately, I'm avoident and even if I wasn't, I still fail to make new friends.

Are you the one that wishes he/she never had AS? Or are you proud of it?
I don't know. For some reason, I would prefer having it.

Are you the aspie with loads of obesessions? Or does nothing seem to capture your attention?
I have a few obsessions, not loads, but I can be extremely obsessed with certain things somtimes.

Are you the one that finds it awkward to exspress themselves? Or can you feel best when everyone knows what your feeling?
Yes, and usually yes... do the math. :(

I'm very introverted. If there is some social gathering of any kind going on, I will prefer to stay at home because they are often too tiring. I don't like to socialize with others if I don't have to. Even with close friends or family.

I am very much proud of it, yes. Or at least, proud of what it lets me do that most NTs cannot. I am probably one of the more arrogant aspies out there. At the very least, if I was given the choice to not be an aspie, I would choose to remain an aspie without hesitation.

I have a lot of obsessions, yes. So if I am ever bored, I am not bored for a long time.

I don't like to express myself very much unless it's a positive expression. In other words, I don't like to appear sad or angry. Annoyed and frustrated are fine. But if I do express myself in words, I'm not completely honest.

I prefer to go out and socialize the best I can.

Are you the one that wishes he/she never had AS? Or are you proud of it?

I'm proud of my AS

Are you the aspie with loads of obesessions? Or does nothing seem to capture your attention?

I have one obsession that is very well known around WP.

Are you the one that finds it awkward to exspress themselves? Or can you feel best when everyone knows what your feeling?

It's very awkward for me to express my feelings without eventually crying, so I keep them to myself.
