Are there general preferences? Or does it all depend on the person?

I personally enjoy parody the most. And as silly as it sounds for a college student, I often find Cartoon Network's Adventure Time hilarious, though I don't know what kind of humor that is.

Also, are there types of humor that many people like that most aspies do NOT?

I enjoy offbeat humor, maybe it's called dark. I don't like any humor labeled as such, but the humor that creeps into an otherwise serious work.

Oh, I guess the exception to that is A Bit of Fry & Laurie, I can chuckle at them pretty thoroughly.

British comedy does it for me. I enjoy all the old British sitcoms.

I love dark humor, I think that's a national thing, it's been commented that if you want to be instantly funny the best thing you can do in my country as a comedian is to walk onto the stage bleeding. But I also love satire, as well as deadpan dry humor. Farces I often like too. Slapstick I'm not so much on, most of it isn't done very well. Your average Hollywood comedy that mostly centers around someone making a complete fool of themselves publicly in the most mortifying way just makes me cringe, so no Ben Stiller or Will Ferrel for my laughter needs.

Creative nonsense is my favorite type of humor.

I enjoy irony and satire, but most of all irreverence.

I don't know. I can't really define it. I know it when I see it.

I like unexpected humor, the sort that plays with your expectations, like a story that you think is headed in one direction, but takes a sudden turn in a completely different direction. I like things which play with your assumptions; you are given a little information, you assume one thing, but you find out that the truth is something different. I like humor that contrasts the different ways that different people view the world. I like humor with a bit of an edge to it; laughing at things that are slightly taboo or off limits. I like humor with a little depth to it; it makes you laugh, but it makes you think at the same time.

I like this too. Now I think of it, surprise is almost an essential part of humour for me. I don't laugh at something I expect or can extrapolate for myself. A lot of people's jokes seem to obvious. I like things that distort reality in some way. Something bizarre, incongruous, strange; something that breaks the order of the day.

I'm not sure. I don't laugh a lot. When I do it's usually about something rather obscure and other people don't find very funny. I usually chuckle a bit at the "usual" kind of humor. I do joke a lot and other people find my comments quite funny, but I myself feel they're only a bit funny.

I'm a sucker for geeky humor. This includes word puns, science jokes, and the like. Always guaranteed to make me laugh.

I have a thing for Star Wars parodies, in fact one of my favorite aspects of Family Guy is thier usage of jokes referring to Star Wars. I love the SW parodies Family Guy and Robot Chicken do.

I really enjoy jokes that are science or math related - the type of jokes that you find yourself being the only person laughing at because nobody else had any idea what it was about :P

I also find the obscene gore in the show Metalocalypse hilarious XD
